We use Monarch Mike. They are pretty dependable and it's a good service, although Luton has some serious road works currently. We tend to fly out early, so the delays are minimal (5am!) . But it's a good idea to keep looking out for sales in the weekend press. They often point you in the direction of good bargains. Margo

Hi Mike,

It depends if you need a car or not, we use Gib when we are staying in Duquesa/Sab and walk, bus or Taxi locally, car hire is available in Duquesa but we have not used it.

The advantage of Gib is that it is closer and you just turn right out of the arrivals walk over the border and you will find a taxi rank on the right (or get mates to pick you up). I think we paid about 40 euros last time for a taxi.

A word of warning, there have been occasions in the past where Spain has closed the border!!! I dont think this has happened for a few years but??

When we need a vehicle on holiday we usually fly into Malaga as prices are more competative

Hope this helps

we always fly into malaga, only because can't get flights from manchester to gib.   i have never paid more than 40-50 pounds for a flight yet.   we use Flymonarch, Thomsonfly, Bmi, or Jet 2 mostly.  Quite often we fly out with one company but return with another and have never had any problems yet.  Not sure about london prices but you can find something very cheap if you search thoroughly all the cheap airlines

i've paid just over 200 for 4 of us on tuesday, and its half term.  Paid less than that two weeks ago.  June i paid around 75 for two return for 2weeks so flights are there if you search.  We usually get a car as the cost of that for a week is same as taxi
