Hi,

Can anyone help with details of where we could get additional pieces of furniture (chairs, sofa) the same as came with the appartment? I've looked through the welcome pack as advised by KM for the info but without success, so not sure whether it's missing or i'm going blind.

Thanks,

Graham & Jane Lomas

Hi Graham & Jane

I think the answer is that you might be going blind - that's assuming your pack is the same as mine!

In the Key Mare book, about 12 pages in there is a list of all the suppliers & the 2nd from last is Muebles/Furniture.

The shop is called Eco Muebles & it is in Los Gallardos.

To get to it go down to the road at the bottom, as if you are going to Consum but keep going past Consum. Stay on that road, going straight across at all the roundabouts - you will then pass the road that takes you to Valle del Este & a bit further on the Go Kart track - Just keep following this road until you come to a T junction with a petrol station in front of you - Turn Left.

Eco Muebles is then just a few hundred yards on the right hand side. If you come to the roundabout for the motorway, you have gone too far. Be aware that if you are unable to speak Spanish, I think there is only one person who can speak English & if they are not there, the staff are not overly helpful.

We went there looking to get a sofa bed the same as the one that is already there but the language problem & lack of interest beat us! We got a sofa bed very similar in another shop & as we are putting throws on them, this didn't matter.

That shop is called Homes & Beyond - www.homesandbeyond.co.uk - Have a look at the website as it will show you the range that they do. They were very helpful & would have delivered almost immediately but we were going home the next day, so they delivered it by liaising direct with our keyholders - couldn't fault them.

Again, if you go to the bottom road & go towards Consum. Then at the last roundabout, where the garden centre is, turn left towards Garrucha. The road bears round to the right & then there is a row of shops on a level higher than the road on the right hand side - that is where you will find them.

Hi

Following on from Noreens reply, if you do happen to meet the one person in Eco Muebles who does speak English, she is very helpful, even offering to swap our settee for a sofa bed (obviously costing the difference) but worth knowing about.   Again agree Homes and Beyond very good.

Hi

We ordered a fifth dining chair from the Eco Meubles in Los Gallardos. I must say we found them really helpful.  They ordered it when we went out in September and offered to keep it for us until we returned in December.

We rang them we we arrived in December to make sure they would be open when we picked it up and it was there waiting for us.

They also showed us the book with the sofa/ furniture packs in and the options with the costs but we found the sofa bed would have been too large for our lounge area.

Has anyone purchased a 2 seater sofa for their apartment and does it fit in the room and look OK? We too agree that another sofa same size as the one provided by Keymare would be too big but Eco Meubles do a smaller two seater and gave us a price for both sofa/sofa bed. Alternative would be to go to Homes and Beyond but we do not want the room to look too cramped. Advice anyone?

Hi

We bought a sofa bed in homes & beyond but haven't actually seen it in the apartment yet, as it was delivered after we returned home at xmas.

However, in order to make a bit more room in the lounge, we moved our tall glass fronted cabinet into the master bedroom & turned the table round the other way. This made a lot of extra room before teh sofa went in.

HI ,

We recently purchased a further pack of kitchen utensils and other bits and pieces from MRI and were promised a high quality pack.

What we received was a low quality pack which was not worth half the 2,400 Euros we paid for it.

Thankfully the company that MRI use recognised this and have agreed to upgrade the parts of the pack we were unhappy with.

So we would recommend that you donot waste your money on this pack which is substandard.

It is best to go direct to the provider to obtain a better product.

Hi Hurricane

We were going to use MRI but because of various issues with them preferred not to hand over any more of our hard earned savings to them.

We did however use their extras pack list as the basis for our purchases & it proved very useful. The pack we looked at was €1965 but we bought everything plus other bits & bobs & a TV & DVD player (which aren't on the list) & we still had change out of €1500.
