Just got a link from our agent, they have finished show apartments to view on Jardines or in the process of making them available to view. Very surprised, have a look. They look like computer animated photo's but they say they are for real.

http://www.direct2spaingolf.co.uk/condado_de_alhama_golf_resort/jardines_de_alhama_showhouse.shtml

If the link gets removed then please pm me for directions.

Things looking good

Mike

It's great to start seeing some actual photos of how the finished product will look. There have been additional pictures posted on the relevant photos forum. Looking at the bathroom, it appears to have the shower unit and screen added. When I asked the question a while ago I was advised by PW that this was something that we would have to install ourselves. Hopefully what you see here is what you get!!

The kitchen is bigger than I thought which is good and it seems from the photos that they will be either silver/grey or beech effect in design. Have a good look at the photos of all the ones of kitchens tha have been potsed......WOT NO TAPS......??!!

Its great to see these photo's. When we visited the site and then had a look at La Torre the Polaris agent said we could have a shower if we preferred and that there would be a free standing water cooler in all of the properties. Maybe the bathroom photo just shows a shower is  possible, although I hope not.- I hope its fitted for us.  What we thought he was saying was that you could have a shower as opposed to a bath if you wanted but as we have never been asked that query maybe it was a bit of sales talk.

We are over in February and I plan to ask about the water cooler (was anyone else told about this/ shown one- it was in the La Torre apartment kitchen) and we also want to know if the kitchen is plumbed for washing machine and tumble dryer. A few developments we have stayed on in the past have had restrictions on hanging out washing and if you want a quick turn around for rentees you may need the tumble dryer. Alternatively you may not want one and would prefer another cupboard and I'd like to know how easy that will be to source, because then a washer/ dryer becomes an option.

Plus- we have bought on Jardines 7 but is that now Jardines 8? I keep reading different things about the number changes. Its not a problem to us just curious.

If anyone has any questions they need asking please pm me before 9th Feb and I'll make a list!

Hi JHMurcia

Just a quick note to let you know you Jardine has changed because they have now called the sports complex Jardin 6.Hence everyone after this has went up one.

Hope this helps

Hi Mike

I was out last week the photos are real. The pool is finished in plot 12 and the turf is laid,  I do have some photos looking towards the pool area from the showhomes. The shower screen to the bath is not fitted as part of the package.

The apartment is quite small especially the living area but the finishes and joinery items are better quality then expected.

My husband and I have just been out for the weekend, flew into Alicante Friday night and back Sunday so that we could see the show apartments.

We were thrilled with what we saw and can't wait to complete!

We have taken lots of our own photographs, although they are similar to those already on various web sites, of course if anyone does want me to e-mail them through to them, please let me know.

The weather was hazy on Saturday and torrential rain on Sunday, didn't seem right to be viewing a solarium in the rain!

The gentleman who showed us round suggested that when it came to releasing the apartments, this would be carried out at the rate of 10 a day.  The actual date was still vague, but from what he said we are in Jardine 5 and could be looking at September/October ish, but I would suggest this is a guess.

Thanks Lindsey,

That date suits us, also being in Jardin 5, hopefully the euro will start to recover a bit by then. Originally bought at 1.47 € now around the 1.32 € / £.

Any sign of anything happening with the town centre or sports area?

Can you send me some photos please, always nice to see some new ones.

Hi,

I have just recieved a quotation from Polaris for air conditioning for the 3 bedroom apartment in garden 3. The general model is quoted

at 3,306 euro and 5,079 for the Daitsu model. Seems a lot !  Has anyone had other quotes ?

Regards Sharon

Try www.polaraircostablanca.com a 3 unit system is 1,599 euros from them fully installed with a 3 year warranty. Can't be bad.  I've booked my installation already!

Hi,

Sorry if this query is on the wrong thread but I couldn't find one suitable. Does anyone know if the bathroom have an extractor fan in it as standard. The reason I ask is that it only seems from the photos that the end appartments have windows and things could get a little steamy!!

Thanks

Phil

Funnily enough we'd thought about this query but never remembered to ask anyone and didnt see anything when looking in the bathroom to make us think a fan was pre fitted. So I had a look on the Polaris site and finally went to specifications which says all that is standard is :-

Vitrified porcelain sanitary ware.

Top quality chrome plated mixer taps.

and had I looked previously would have cleared up our long standing confusion about the bathroom vanity cabinet and earlier the shower screen!!

We're not an end apartment either and dont see that fitting an extracter as an easy job and there's no electric in there anyway.

Can I ask the people buying in the jardines, were you at any time asked if you had any options re the bathroom cabinets, shutters or anything? It seems strange that they have all different cabinets in the showroom bathrooms but you're going to end up with just a basic pedestal? It's going to be a bit of a pain changing it later especially if you are left with screw holes where the pedestals been fitted. Why does everything have to wait for completion if we are footing the bill? Surely it would be much easier having a lot of this work doe during construction? Also we were originally showed round La Torre by a PW rep and were told the same regarding the room sizes, shutters, satellite tv, maintenance etc.. I don't think we were told anything about a water cooler though.

When we were out last week we were told that you can have the vanity units fitted ready for completion from Polaris Homestyle. Went down to see them but still waiting for a price out of curiosity. Probably cheaper getting one ourselves afterwards from somewhere. But at least they offered to have it ready for then. Same goes for the aircon & heating.

Just been out last weekend to view the showhouses. We bought in Jardine 13.

Couple of things.

The entire complex is fenced off but there were literaly hundreds of parking spaces outside the fence. When I asked I was told that the Island town centre and the sports centre were also for public use as they reckoned there would not be enough people staying fulltime to keep them in business. The completion date for that is end 2009. The small town centre within the resort boundaries is for our use exclusively. They will have a shop, bar and restaurant open this year for the early signers.

We sign end July and were told that as Polaris hand over the cert of habitation at signing all water and electricity will be turned off by the builder and we will have to apply ourselves - this will take at least 2 months so don't plan on using your apartment for a couple of months after signing.

The golf course will be ready for play approx end 2009............

Free bus into Mazarron (as we were initially told) is now a public bus that passes by the complex. Free bus is for golfers signed up to play other polaris courses.

Living room tiny. One 3 seater facing a TV is all that will fit. Room for 6 beds in 3 bedrooms but no seating room in living area. TV point only on one wall - wrong wall for me. Was told that internal modifications do not need planning permission so wall can be knocked, losing a bedroom, for extra living room space if desired.

Second bedroom will cater for 2 single beds but has a lip on the wall near the wardrobe to house wiring and plumbing which restricts the size of the beds. The showhouse had 32 inch wide beds while 36 inch seems to be standard in the furniture stores.

Back Patio is described and illustrated in the contracts as a tiled terrace with surrounding garden area. Shocked when I saw fully tiled small area with low walls facing car parking area and your neighbours back terrace.

Front Patio lovely and without planning permission the small area alongside the sliding doors can be blocked up with bricks or wood to provide a storage area for chairs table etc.

Completed unit does not come with light fittings - only bare wires hanging from ceiling.

Kitchen units are tan but standard worktop is grey - cannot be changed prior to signing.

Bathroom sink - small pedestal - cannot be changed prior to signing. Can see a lot of these useless things dumped around the area......

Will load photos re the above points asap for all.

Talk soon. Not very happy.

Coff

I was out last week too and was pleasantly surprised.  I have a 2 bed penthouse on Jardin 13.  The guy showing me round told me their is NO bus service to Mazzaron and PW are in talks with the bus co to try to get the route changed.  Apart from that it all looks good.  I went back to La Torre for a look (was there last Sep and it was deserted). It was buzzing and plenty out golfing and socialising - very nice.

Didnt someone a few weeks back ask about the water etc and reported that Polaris will arrange the changover but we pay. I remember because I thought it initially meant it was part of our purchase and we didnt have to pay for the changeover but was soon advised that we do! Can anyone add to this?

NB- we too think the 2 bed living room is small but think a 3 seater under the window (slimline) and a 2 seater or chairs in front of the breakfast bar and TV  in the centre the wall will be fine.
