We have bought a second floor two bedroom apartment on El Rincon, and are looking to fit a security grill to the second bedroom window.

Does anyone know of any company that you could recommend to fit this, who are reliable and reasonable.

We are not out again until Easter but would like to get it sorted before we go out again.

I have just read your thread, and believe our cleaner Lynn who i think you know ,has the services of a handyman who may be able to help you !

Slightly different but has anyone with a top floor apartment considered the security gate at the bottom of the spiral stairs. In case you have here's what it looks like.

Hi All,

We have just arrived back from Spain after 12 lovely days, but i am posting  comments on this message because it is about security

On our visit in october we purchased a couple of bikes, our plan was to not hire a car this time and use bikes to explore the area, all went well the first week, we fastened them up with a chain to a lamp post under the stairwell, yes you guessed it, they were stolen.                                                       BE AWARE THIEVES ALWAYS ABOUT  !!!!!!

Hi everyone

Just got back yesterday and felt the need to mention a break-in occurred in block 4 floor 1 a couple of days ago, so if you have not changed the locks I would, get in touch with Chris the vice chairperson and he can give you the details of the guy who does this. 

It happened apparently during the day, they knocked the lock out of the gate and then went through the utility and through the window into the apartment, I know not good news especially when you see the location of this apartment, directly in front of the first gate but thought everyone should be aware so they can be extra vigilant and make sure if you rent out your apartment your tenants lock doors and close gates, Chris was swore at the other day for asking someone not to climb the fence, they were renters !!!

Hi All,

I assume that most of us know the answers to all those questions we were asking before we got our keys, the amount of posts are few and far between these days.

However i raise the issue of SECURITY! We must put pressure on the elected commitee who run our development, to put barbed wire on the top of that fence,stop these idiots climbing over, what about a guard to patrol on a night?what about security cameras?I think we pay more than La calma for our community charge, and think the issue of security of our apartments is the most important thing which affects us all. Does anyone know when an AGM is? Does anyone know how we make are feelings known to the commitee?

It is OUR development, and if enough of us agree that not enough is been done regarding security we need to let it be known.

WHAT DO YOU THINK?

You are quite right we need to do something because I have just telephoned Andy this morning and unfortunately  we have had 2 more break ins.

One is above Chris and the other somewhere in phase 2

I suggest that we all email the Administrator Jose Ramon Morato e mail address  below :- 

management@gesfinsl.com

Requesting his urgent proposals to improve security and get them implemented without delay.

I have already asked Kerry to consider taking the same measures as La Calma, ie employ the services of a Security Guard .

Just read your messages re the recent break ins and I am also most concerned about the situation and disappointed that the security is so poor which is allowing for opportunistic thieves to target our apartments.  Unless something is done to improve the security we are really just sitting targets so I will back any campaign to get the security situation improved as soon as.

 I have sent an e-mail to the administrator to voice my concerns.  I will watch this site to see if there is anything else I should do meantime with regards to contacting anyone, pending AGM etc

Hi Everyone,

Just to keep everyone updated, unfortunately there have been a further two breakins using the same method of entry. These were both in phase 2, second floor.  We have consequently had our gate lock changed to a flush fitting lock and if anyone wants a contact to get this done please send us a PM and we give can give you the details.  This change to the lock prevents the thief from simply breaking off the exposed part of the barrel lock which enables entry.

We still feel very strongly that if we had a security guard walking around this would surely act as a deterrent to the opportunist thief lurking who would then move on to easier pickings. La Calma have a security guard who was employed after a similar spate of breakins, and of course its worth mentioning that their community charges are still less than ours!

These breakins will continue to occur unless we take some action.
