Hi everyone

This is to anyone who has an interest in the community of San Cayetano and the formation of an interim owners committee.

Following recent conversations on the forum we feel that there is a need to create a committee for the benefit of owners of properties within San Cayetano.   Setting this committee up now will hopefully bring any issues and concerns to Taray’s attention and pave the way forward for a great community.

Firstly, there will be a need to identify people willing to serve on the committee and we are aware that people have previously indicated that they would.  If this is still the case we are in a position to start the committee now.  As the development is still ongoing this will undoubtedly change over a period of time.

Our basic thoughts are that the committee should be made up of a mixture of both residents and none resident owners, the proportion of which can be decided upon.  We would be more than willing to play a part in setting up this committee but by no means wish to dictate anything to anyone.  We need a consensus of opinion as to the way forward.

We will be completing at the end of this month and will be over the first week in December, if anyone would like to get together to take this further please let us know.

It would be useful if this thread could be used as an open forum for everyone to play their part.

We are moving onto phase 2 next month, and will be full timing.  a committee is needed, and we would be willing to play a major part.   We will pm you with our private phone number, and have a meet when you arrive.   Because we are already here, we could attempt to set up a meeting with someone from Taray, If anyone else is here and interested , perhaps we could all attend this meeting.

Colin and I will be interested in joining the committee. We are coming out in January for three weeks so if anything has been sorted by then we would love to hear from you. We are not permanent residents but hoping to spend a lot of time in our place with the view to moving out at a later date.

with regard to the TV

as Taray had a problem with independant ariels and the granting of the LFO, they did a deal with one of the TV installers who will hook you up to the communal ariel for the mesh system at a cost of €490 and €19 per month thereafter,

the plus of this is that you get it installed for €100 less

the minus is that if you wish to move and take the system with you, you need to pay for a mesh (probably €100)

the TV guy is  a friend of mine and i can sort out the installation for you if you wish, i will do this whether you are here or in the UK,  PM me or you can ring me 0034 638704744 when you are over.

Can anyone update me as to what happened with setting up a meeting with Taray?

I've also been reading a thread on the Torre Alcantara (Balsicas) forum  about residents committees. They recommend that there is a Spanish person on the committee and also a person of professional standing.

So how far are we (at San Cayetano) with the committee?

Hi Everyone,

Before we go into setting up a committe and everything that goes with it, can I suggest that you do read the threads on the Torre Alcantara (Balsicas) forum, in particular the thread 'WHAT A DISASTER'.  We have been looking at this forum for some time out of general interest, as Taray is the builder and they are several months ahead of us. So far, everything seems to have been going along swimmingly, much like our own development. (apart from a gigantic flyover being built right next to their development ,which no one knew about until it started going up).

However, they have just had their first Committee meeting and elected a President, Vice President and a paid Administrator and it seems like anarchy has broken out. It appears that not everyone was aware of the meeting, there is disagreement with the elections, there are accusations of cliques forming and even the threat of a punch up down at the pool, over new rules that have already been made. There is also concern that they may have taken responsibility for the site before Taray have even finished working there.

The point I wish to make is that don't let us get into this situation!  Before we get to this stage lets make sure the timing is right and that eveyone knows about it, so that those who want a say can have a say.  Those that want to put up for election can post their profile so that eveyone knows who they are voting for, even if they can't attend and wish to vote by proxy.

Reading our own forum, San Cayetano seems a happy place to be and we can't wait to get out there, so lets keep it that way and don't let happen to us, what has just happened up the road.
