Has anybody had a water bill yet ? And if yes was the bill send by post in the normal way. I have only had electricity bills so far but............

I questioned a number of  DIVERSE TAXES PAYMENT  on my Banco de Andalucia bank statement and was told that these were water bill payments when they checked them on the computer screen in my bank in Duquesa yet they don't show as that on my statement.

Has anybody else had these payments taken?

Hi Jeff

Had no water bills as of yet, however we did go to the bank and found that the Diverse Taxes Payment is shown on our             PC online banking statement ,and is taken every quarter. Our most recent payment taken out was on the 11th october 2007 also shown on our statement. Hope this helps.

Kind Regards  Chri & Chris

An interesting question Jeff.
Now you come to mention it...
My Solicitor arranged the  water and electricity connections  and set up direct debits but in six month I've not seen any bills nor debits on my account.
I've never had any mail   addressed to me at DV.

Maybe I'll get cut off soon !

I have just come across the following entry as well on my online banking

11-10-2007 DIVERSE TAXES PAYMENT
31,40
-
euros
11-10

I had another for about 5 euros about 6 months ago so it looks like this is for 2 qtrs or there abouts for me.

We were in Duquesa this week and went down to the new post office in Sabillnas. They had a water and electricity bill for us. Our solicitor arranged for them to be taken by direct debit from our bank account. There are hundreds of letters down there addressed to owners in Duquesa Village. If you ask the assistants they will bring out two plastic crates full of letters. By the looks of them there are lots of electricity and water bills. The new post office is behind the Mercadona on the main road in Sabillnas. The Spainish for it is Correcas ( Dont know if Ive spelt it correctly.

Lynn

Thanks for that my electricity bills used to arrive in the El Hacho office in Duquesa before I redirected them to my agent, but I have never seen a water bill.

And post is 'Correos' and Post Office is 'Oficina de Correos'

Mucho Gracias

Hi Jeff,

We need to change the address for our electricity bills, can you tell me how you did yours?  Also, do you know if they accept PO Box addresses?  We have rented one down in the port, so that we can have all our mail redirected to the UK, but now we think they don't accept PO boxes, it has to be a 'real' address.

Thanks

Michelle & Alex

P.S - No update on the air con situation yet!

Alex,

Contact Endesa and ask for you bill to be sent to your new address, as long as you pay by direct debit they will do the address change, don't know about PO Boxes. They were very efficient with us when we swiched to agent. Their number is on your bill. and below:-

Endesa (http://www.endesa.es) is the national electric company (phone number for Endesa customer service is 902 509 509 and they have got English speaking staff).

All the best Jeff and Greta

Hi,

That's useful.  I was about to enquire what Diverse Taxes was about.   11 euros on my account seems about right.  I've only used the place for 3 weeks so far this year.

What surprises me though is this:-
05-10-2007 DIRECT DEBIT ENDESA DISTRIBUCION ELECT, REF.NR. 09702849162
112,13

I've not seen the bill as yet.
But it looks high for three weeks although it must include some element of fixed charge.
Given that I alway  turn the power off  at the mains when I leave the place it surprises me.

I'll make a point of going to the post office.  Thanks for that information.

Curious,  how does the above compare to other bills relating to occupancy?

regards,
Paul

Paul,

There is an element of a fixed charge each month in the order of about 8 ? euros plus iva, I have a 20.55 bill for 2 kw of power used.

Thanks Jeff,

That is useful information.
There seems to be something suspect about my electricity bill given that I don't use the Air Con (except for the test I did)
and I power off at the mains when not in residence.

I must get a copy of the bill from the power company.

Paul
