The Christmas hampers were raffled New Years Eve and the following people were the lucky winners :

Hamper 1 pink ticket 524 – Donna McFadian

Hamper 2 pink ticket 597 – Marie Page

Hamper 3 pink ticket 483 – Anna Katrina

Hamper 4 pink ticket 466 – Jim and Martina

Hamper 5 pink ticket 448 – Ricky Comer

Hamper 6  pink ticket 486 – Lesley White

Hamper 7 pink ticket 452 – Sue Perry

Hamper 8 grey ticket 385 – Derek

Hamper 9 pink ticket 565 – Steve Locker

Hamper 10 pink ticket 603 – Irene Page

Hamper 11 grey ticket 402 – Terry

So there are the lucky winners.  Please forgive me if I’ve misspelt any names, it’s dark in the Clover, I forgot my reading glasses and couldn’t see what I was writing and it was New Years Eve.  Once again the CPR would like to thank everybody who contributed to the hampers, Big G’s for donating a hamper, CPR Fund Raiser Lynn of the Clover for organising the hampers, Michele for wrapping them so elegantly and for everybody who purchased raffle tickets.  Between us we managed to raise 575 euros for CPR which is a great figure.

All the prizes have been claimed except for the hamper drawn on Christmas Eve white/grey ticket 235.  If the prize is not claimed within a month it will be raffled off again so check your raffle tickets.

If you weren’t on site and would like to join in the Christmas/New Year fund raising initiative then visit the website at www.cprcondado.com and hit the donate button.

Unclaimed Prize by Sarah Dayson

The Committee are also holding an unclaimed prize of a voucher from the Bisto Bulgaria from a raffle which took place earlier this year in May.  The winning ticket was No. 315 in the name of Sarah Dayson but she has never come forward to claim the prize.  So Sarah if you are out there please come forward and collect the prize through this web-site or if you know Sarah then can you put us in touch with her.  If the prize remains unclaimed after two weeks it will be raffled again..

The problem with being a volunter for anything is that those volunteers have to be aware of other peoples expectations. Working on Christmas Day, Boxing day or New Years Eve & New Years day are part of those expectations & if the previous thread is acurate then sorry but some one has to cover those dates. If you are not prepared to do your share of holiday dates the don`t volunteer.

Of course it could be that there was someone on duty but no one was notified as to how to get in touch.

If that is the case then maybe contact details could be posted on this or a new thread

As most know I refrain from posting on this website normally as the damage that can be caused by people posting nameless and also that this site is used far to often to defame and rubbish which is unfair.

Barry. Gill I am so surprised that you would post on here that CPR is for clover drinkers.. Let me put some things straight for your info.

CPR has started to give cover when possible ( hopefully 24 / 7 ) and and small number of people have taken the course and qualified and with others covering in a support capacity. We have lost a couple over the last month to illness and moving of site and others were in the uk so the remaining volunteers covered as best as possible.

CPR is not clover based it is resort based and people from all over the resort are part of the set up.

We desperately need more people to become part especially people who are residents so as we have courses running in march I now hope to see your names.
The worst of it all is that you see me and numerous others involved in CPR and have not mentioned this to me and the first I here is on this site. If you have a problem I am contactable all the time speak to me or some of the others they do not hide and are all approachable.

I wonded how long it would take for people to come on and have a go at a group of individuals who have given up their time and effort without any financial gain to be attacked by people who haven't and all that is trying to be achieved is to make our resort a better place.

SO PLEASE I IMPLORE All..... Have a problem talk to any of us and second DONT whinge get involved

Sorry but I hope the only thing we here on here is support any problems use the website and emails and all will be responded to directly

Neil

Having been heavily involved,(on a voluntary basis) when funding was needed to set up the Air Ambulance for the west mids it soon became obvious that though there were many paramedics eager to do their bit on the helicopter they did not want to spend their evenings & weekends fundraising. In the end it was just a small group of  5 Paramedics & 2 wives, myself included. This same group continued for just over two yeas & over that time no one else volunteered.

It is the same in schools, a small group of parents help out every time whilst the remaining parents let their children enjoy the school outings etc with out giving a helping hand. I for one appreciate the studying & the time these volunteers are giving but as I said in my previous comment, peoples expectations are always higher that it is possible to meet but would never concider offering any help even if its for a limited time in an year.

CPR - please don't let the moaners put you off. The service is voluntary resourced and voluntary funded, it is also in its infancy and hopefully will develop into a very valuable service we can all be proud of.

Keep up the good work !!

Its ok raising money but where is the support when needed? Lady collapsed in garden over christmas and nobody on

This particular comment confuses me.....can I assume that an ambulance was called for this lady??? Remember 112 is to be called first...CPR are there to provide cover while awaiting the ambulance, which can take 20 minutes!

The CPR team are not there to provide plasters and a cup of tea...they are there to help save lives.....they should only be called after the ambulance....they are not there to replace ambulance cover!! If you dont need an ambulance.....you dont need CPR!!!!

Can someone please clarify that this lady who collapsed left the resort in an ambulance????

Jan.......youve written that people shouldnt volunteer if not willing to cover holidays...these volunteers volunteered to do 1-2 nights a month and are doing 2-3 nights a week at present.  These volunteers use their own cars, which ties down their partners or volunteers also for 48-72 hours a week on resort!!!!

We should be grateful for what cover we do get!!!!

Hi Red Rose

What I said & some coments have proven my point is that people`s expectations are higher than what is possible.

However you do have a point re the lady who colapsed. If she was unconsious then she needed to be put in the recovery position until an ambulance arrived with or whithout CPR cover. If she fainted then most people come out of it very quickly but should seek medical attention and again putting her in the recovery position would have helped her recover sooner. I believe that basic training ie how to safely assess a situation & how to put some one in the recovery position (If safe to do so) should be taught in all schools then ambulances or the CPR team may not be needed giving them the opportunity to help more urget cases who do need the help .

I was not knocking the volunteers. I was pointing out that it was evedent that people expected these volunteers to work VOLUNTARILY over the christmas period. I wonder if maybe those people would be happy to do some training & do a voluntary stint over next Christmas

Like Neil,

I have stopped posting on here because of the negativeness and often personal attacks on people.

I have posted today to put the records straight.

The lady who collapsed is a friend of ours, she was found collapsed and unconscious on the grass in one of the Jardins having, we now believe, passing out and hitting her head on one of the light posts.

Security and an ambulance were called by the person who found her, she was taken to hosital and has now made a full recovery.

It took 20 minutes for a ambulance to arrive from Alhama (I think) and  none of the crew spoke ANY english

A massive thank you to all the people involved ( I do know some names but do not wish to name them on here) and for their translation skills.

With regards to CPR I do not know if they were called or not but please give these people your support. They are volunteers, giving up their OWN time to help others, not to be crtisised at the first instance. They aim to give 24/7 initial response cover to Condado and deserve our full support.

Remember it may be you who needs help next time!!

Phil
