Renting properties and potential changes in the law.

Just been reading that Spain is to vote on changing the law on who can rent out their property. Potentially it seems that rentals will only be permitted via an official rental company (according to the article I read) and that all rental properties will be required to have inspections and licences n the same way hotels and large scale self catering complexes do. This is already in place in parts of France and Germany is also to vote on it soon. It is seen as the end of private rental as it will be costly for owners. Any one know any more?

Yes, saw it online and have been shown a fairly long article in daily mail today. Some suggestion that the decision would mean hotels will benefit as private renters wont be able to afford the licences and some owners may struggle to maintain the standards required or deal with the admin as this can be long winded in Spain.
