My thoughts on the issue of voting is this - What happens when the only person  who has put themselves forward is the one person you do not feel has been doing a good job.

If there is no one else putting them selves forward were do we go.  To vote for the current presedent would be hypocritical, so do we waste our vote. ??

Is there anyone else out there willing to take on this task I wonder . Do they think that its to late now ???

 It's never too late.  If your current president is not doing the job then replace them!  

You have a wee to find someone willing to stand and to give them you vote, come on people it's your garden better to get anyone in that willing to do  the job properly than just let someone you believe isn't get back in my default.

As far as I'm aware the President's hat then goes to the owner of the lowest numbered apartment in the Jardin. Thats why some President haven't been heard from they didnt put themselves forward. Although others only contact their Jardin neighbours and not the owners who live off the resort.

I think its quite difficult for anyone living off the resort to put themselves forward, I dont thnik they have to attend any meetings as it can all be done by email and proxy votes but maybe many are not retired, for the most part, and dont feel confident they can give the job the attention it deserves. If you only stay a few weeks a year its hard to have  an ear to the ground especially if your Jardin has residents from lots of different nations and you can't get an opportunity to speak to them properly. If you live there even if you work you are still more part of it all.

That said we need people to put aside those concerns and oust lazy President's who can't be bothered to even keep their owners up to date and it's always been the same since Spain developed this concept. But, whilst I want CdA to go from strength to strength I have some sympathy with people who dont feel they can put themselves out there. If you have a full time job and are so busy with family or other things, you might just feel that it's not for you at the moment.

Wish it was otherwise and I hope people will still put themselves forward.

And before anyone asks- no, I wont put myself forward until I own an apartment independently, I dont want to shoot someone elses bullets, Come the day, and I await Paramount for this opportunity, then I think I would like to give it a try.

 The way the system works is simple if someone puts themselves forward and there is no oposition at the AGM they get elected?

They dont even vote if there is only one candidate, if more than one then they vote.

If no-one stands then the owner of the lowest number plot becomes president and under Spanish law is stuck with the title for 1 year.

Hence the drive to seek willing Presidents 

Rememebr the sayiog 1 volunteer is better than 10 pressed men?

Unfortunately if you have a President who is standing again and there is no opposition you can vote for him / her or abstain but if he / she is the only one then there wont be a vote anyway? they just get the Job.

Its important to have opposition at these elections.
