I am young and single so its hard to speak out against the flipsy flopsy girls, however I agree, the servics is worse, the music is louder and the set up looks far less professional.

Hopefully in time, if this tempory clubhouse arrives, we will then have a choice. The Clubhouse for a quiet pint, with professional looking staff, then the Clover later with more of a nightclub atmosphere and pretty staff?

i agree with everything that has been commented on the previous posts

while over in condado a couple of weeks back with family guests, we and neighbour owners and their family guests, ten  of us in total were in the bar one night having a great night and spending a lot of money. as you do while on holiday we decided to order cocktails/drinks. a few of us ordered  mojitos and were told by blonde/manager flipsy flopsy that it would take forty minutes. when we questioned why it would take so long we were told if we did not like it we could leave. now we were not drunk or causing a nuisance as we were not in long but at the prices they were charging for the drink and it being a rather large party of people when they are crying out for footfall it did not do a whole lot of good for customer relations. needless to say we did not stay too long after that and you would not be in too much of a hurry to go back with that kind of attitude.

p.s.   SMV is bang on about the guinness, and its like drinking water no kick in it whatsoever

The only problem with returning a flat pint or a bad guinness is that you'd die of thirst waiting for the replacement pint!!

Maybe they could change one of the flipsy flopsy's for a Tom Cruise look - i - like - i then us girls could be entertained whilst our cocktails are made!!!!!

It explains why the complaints to the Manager by the Presidents went straight in the bin if the head flipsy flopsy is the manager!!  that's really worrying.....

Come on Polaris its not too difficult to run the bloody pub, reduce the prices, put in respectful and respectable staff, organise some events, serve some decent reasonably priced bar food/Tapas and create a nice atmosphere and the place should be a gold mine.

Tom Cruise would be perfect, he already has the qualifications,  working as a barman in Cocktail.

I was under the impression that the smoking ban in pubs was to come into effect this summer anyway.

Or is this just a partial ban and putting the smokers into one area of the pub?

Hi Shane,

Nope.  Under the current laws any bar/resturant over 100SqM must be either non-smoking or have a seperate smoking area, the smoking designated areas must meet at least the following requirements:

- They must be physically separated from other central agencies, and not be forced passage areas for nonsmokers,
- Must have separate ventilation systems,
- And in any event, the surface of the smoking area shall be a maximum of 30 percent of the common areas.

The proposed changes to the law will remove the ability for seperate areas and introduce a blanket ban.

If there is a coalition would Jose Luis Harnandez be in charge, coz that guy makes promises he cant keep!

No the presidents would hold the majority of votes so naturally would run the coalition any promiseswitheld we could throw oranges at him!!

The offical complaint was delivered this morning and this evening the clover is NON SMOKING,  could just be coincidence, but i did sent PW an advance copy of the complaint a couple of days ago so you never know.

RESULT - well at least for the non-smokers.

This is absolutely brill, especially since its supposed to be a family area, my only gripe will be fag ends dropped at the entrance and having to tip toe through them.

I believe that sometime in June 2010 Spain will have to join in with the rest of Europe with regards to smoking.  There will be no designated smoking areas in restaurants etc and people will have smoke outside.
