Murcia's new Corvera Airport

Legally, flights have to be at a certain height before flying over residential areas and (as long as the pilot wants to) should keep climbing, so anything of a distance c. 5Km radius shouldn't suffer from noise!

Or so the interweb says! lol

The published plan of the runway shows a east west aspect. It is likely they will come in from Cartagena, travel up from there and land east to west or vice versa. If they take off west to east we will get no noise at all. If they take off east to west they should be high enough so as by the time the plane swings round we will not here anything. I have never heard of a noth south runway, which would seem impractical due to the mountain range. Hacienda de Alamo was the reason the aiport has been so delayed because they put in a complaint regarding the take off noise. so maybe it is a east west take off as H D A is to the left of the new airport. It is approx 25 mins on the new motorway to Corvera, therefore noise should not be an issue. Unlike HDA - but you think they would have thought about that before building the place. Corvera has been waiting to be built since way back in 2000. Obviously someone didn't do a local planning search when they built HDA

we live a twenty minute drive (no traffic) from newcastle airport which will be a lot busier than corvera and we can only just make out planes either landing or taking off,                                      

 they seem to fly???

when we bought on condado we were told that the airport would be ten minutes drive away, was anyone else?, if so stop whinging, you should have bought elsewhere if you were worried about flight noise

We were also advised a ten minute drive but was told that we wouldn't be in the flight path, don't think anyone should complain with the choice on 3 airports within an hours drive of Condado.

I do not think it will be a problem at all for Condado. I read the information some time ago from the Murcia authorities. The area most afected is going to be Corvera and Valladolises, thats why the goberment said anyone living in any of this two places  will have priority to work in the airport.

I live 20 minutes drive from Liverpool airport.  The flight path takes the plane right over the top of my house.  Not because as some may think I have become "used to it," but noise has never been an issue from day one.  The reason!   Because the planes are coming in for landing, where far less thrust and power is needed.

So you not only have to work out runway(s) direction but which one's will be used for landing and take-off.

And also which SAD person is trying to calculate from this information where I live.  Even if you thought about doing that, thats sad too.  OMG I'm sad for even thinking that.    Just look in my profile

If we get any noise.............. Just get Skell to bring it down with his trusty driver and a Pro V1, he hits them high enough..  Sorry Mate.

Jeeeez, am I bored talking about noise from aircraft when (A) I build the damn things to earn my crust. (B) Who cares.  Were far enough away it wont be a problem, unless Skell actually does hit it.

We don't seem to have any news since last summer pre credit crisis. We posted photos then on our website. A few mnths ago I took a look down there. It's very difficult to get close but I jumped a fence, climbed a reservoir got a bit closer and it looks a little further advanced than summer 2008 but not what you'd expect. Personally and no confirmation on this, I expect the credit crisis is delaying this, otherwise the progress reports would be pouring out.
