Hi,

 

Does anyone have the Community Office email address (or correct Polaris contact)?

 

I have just returned to the UK, but on my last day I changed some of my outside lights and noticed the supply wires were installed incorrectly (ie Blue was Live not neutral), secondly the circuit breakers are all labelled wrong as the air con electrician found out when he received a shock, also the bedroom light has an earth leakage fault.  Anyone else noticed anything wrong with their electrics?

will give Polaris a chance to put it right before i get the National Health & Safety Exec involved.

hi ,  yes we too had all kinds of probs with our electrics , being an electrical and heating engineer in uk i sorted most of them myself too numerous to list all , but my main prob was an unmaid live connection somewhere in the metal stud walls which i could not find,   when the wind blew it touched the wall and tripped out a 25 amp breaker and the main 40amp on the incomer , polaris eventually sorted it after many numerous complaints via email and telephone , so far all has been well since it was repaired, the quality of the installation work is terrible and i would reccommend getting your electrics checked professionally , i am not sure if most of the work was not carried out by a proper spark but maybe labourers instead

to be proper qualified in spain you must be spanish fluent ( to sit there exams)  i have been told ,so beware anybody who cant speak spanish is not spanish qualified elctrician  , although a lot say they are

We also had problems with main drains blocked on rear from property which i also fixed after having waste come up in the bath when toilet was flushed , problems was exit from property to main drains blocked by builders rubble that had simply been brushed down hole before inspection pit cap was put on, when i cleared it it ran for nearly 3 mins,  must have been 2 weeks worth at least !!

You will get it all sorted eventually and then every time you return it just seems to get better , we love being there now , but at first wondered what we had payed for   !

We also had a problem with the socket on the upstairs solarium. It was wired completely wrongly and so was dangerous. We made two visits to customer services and sent several emails before workmen turned up- but they did come and fix it. Then they broke the socket surround which sounds a small thing but in view of the fact damp can be a problem, we wanted to ensure that it was replaced and resealed. They sent the workmen who simply sealed around it with filler. We then contacted customer services again and on more than one occasion and finally our keyholder has been able to report that they have replaced and resealed the socket cover.

Everyone was unfailingly polite and in the scheme of thing- other than it being dangerous- this was a relatively small job that should have taken about ten minutes. Somehow PW managed to stretch it over several months requiring two workmen to come to the apartment three times!
