Condado garden festival august 2009

The 22nd of August saw  the first festival set up by some residents of Jardine three.

The day started with a sit down luch under four canopies lined up next to the fence of the pool. Food and drink was shared between Spanish and English who lined up the tables and chairs from their apartments. The punch didn't last long as you could imagine.

sporting events followed for the kids and adults alike. (ludo is not a sport neither is dominos)

A Dj from Mazarron was hired for the night to entertaine all which went on into the early hours of the morning. Dancing singing and generaly enjoying the day.

Surely there are some happy tails to share, and maybe some good pictures of the garden and sports area dressed up with the kids and adults having a laugh. The sports area was taken over with events for the afternoon and the following day. (football was won by the English, the Spanish were favorites to win)

There are some plans being drawn up to have another festival in August next year and hopeing Polaris will assist with the venue in the al Kasar and maybe throw a few euros in the pot.

Hopefuly the date for next years festival will be posted on this forum so those who want to participate can do so.

This sounds terrific and I wish we'd been there. Its such a good idea for the resort.

If Al Kasar could be used next year it would take it up a notch- only because of the setting and being central. I wonder if PW would let there be a BBQ?

What are the components of a traditional Spanish Festival ( whenever we have caught one its been very late evening and just down to music and dancing) maybe we could draft in some typical Spanish elements. Dont they have fireworks? A children's parade?
