Reported that tarmac was beginning to be laid on Sunday past, starting from the N340 end and moving up to the Coto Real end. They are obviously doing it in one fell swoop.

Maybe some of our residents can update on the progress but it seems we're getting there at long last.

Will

Fantastic, just in time for my next visit...it will make life a whole lot easier gaining access to the port.  This will inevitably mean that Arenal will now gain a complete licence for the whole of phase 1.

That's the game plan with the Town Hall - once the road is finished and signed off, the remaining Arenal licences are issued.

Any chance anyone can take some photos of the road, can't believe we will now be able to walk from Coto Real straight down to the port.

I'm trying to control my excitement in fear of yet another setback but it would seem likely that Phase 2 should be able to copmplete fairly soon too once the road has been finished.

Does anyone know anything about that or just that Phase 1 can have all LFO's? I would think the developer would get LFO's for everything on that side. Maybe we just join the queue behind all you Phase 1 folk!

For those of you who have completed, how long did you get to arrange going out and snagging? For the rest in phase 1 get the champagne in the fridge!

I was over there last week and there was some work underway in relation to that.New levels had been marked out and some pavement was being dug up to facilitate it.

It Is progressing but slowly.Builder seems to be concentrating efforts on the apartment/Commercial block in front of our development.Hopefully he has a buyer(s) lined up for that.

Overall the road looks very well and will in time be a 2 lane road to/from the motorway. With a bit of a push they should be able to complete the section relevent to Arenal Duquesa shortly. That depends though on how much manpower they throw at it.

Update from Peter & Nicola from Coto Real who are over at the moment :

"Weather very nice. Not too hot, temperature around 26 to 28C.
The road is half finished. Tarmac has been laid from the dual carriageway at the bottom up to the intersection at the bottom of the hill. They are still working on the last section from the bottom of the hill up to Coto Real. They don't seem to be making much progress. The big issue is that the road is still closed at the bottom which prevents you from walking down it to the port. The last 50 yards has not been finished and the fence is still there preventing you from walking down. So progress but not really meaningful progress with regard to getting to the port quickly"

At least work is still happening !

What a pity, I was looking forward to coming out on Thursday and be able to walk down to the Port.  Never mind we are used to walking all the way round now.

Thanks Will. does that mean the tarmac has been laid past phase 1 now as that was the reason for delaying the Licnece for phase 1. Can you pls clarify which intersection the tarmac stops. I really hope the whole road will be quickly completed for all our sakes.

Many thanks

freddie

Just to let you all know that while there is a wire mesh fence at the bottom of the road it is possible to squeeze through and walk that way to the port.At least it was possible a week ago!

Sometimes there is a security gaurd at the bottom and he makes you walk all the way back up, so won't chance it until it's open as it has happened to lots of our friends.

The road is now tarmaced and road markings painted.  However, no road lighting as yet, there was a man working in the electrical box whilst I was there but no sign of any street lamps.  The ramps into the development that side of the road have been lowered to allow for vehicle access into the development.  We were able to walk to the port that side and that was very handy.

The development is still attended to by the gardeners and a gentleman is around doing the maintenance work and I did see on the odd occasion a cleaner.  People are still moving in, albeit very slowly.  New people moved into block 11 on Friday and more people are sitting around the pools.  All three pools are now working, not too sure how clean they are though.

Sabinillas I noticed was very busy, we were fortunate to be there for the International festival and Virgen Del Carmen last week.  The Paseo was a beehive of activity in the evening, with the restaurants and bars very busy, people walking up and down, enjoying the weather and sampling what the restaurants and bars had to offer.  Sabbi is I think fastly becoming a popular place to stay, especially with the Spanish. Taxi Square was brimming with people sitting outside enjoying the fantastic hot climate; it was very very warm well into the night.  I had a lovely time there last week and begrudgingly arrived home last night.

Yes, thanks tracey.  I'll be so pleased if we can use the road into the port as we are on that side so its so handy.  Did you noticed if the summer night market was on again at the end of the paseo?

i'm on my way out tomorrow until september so i will try and post as often as i can.   I am hoping to have internet in the apt after this week so you wont be able to shut me up if thats the case!  Although, things never seem to go to plan out there so it could be september before it gets done!!
