Does anyone know how long it takes for a pool to be fit for swimming in after it has been filled? Our pool is yet to be filled and I'm interested to guage how long I can expect to wait after it is finally filled. Thanks in anticipation!

Not sure on the answer to your query but, for info', see the state of play of pools on HRGR according to the Call Centre as at 17th June :

 Phase 1Phase 3Adriático 20-22 Cilantro, 12 . the pool is open Atlantica 132 -134, Estragon 2 Cilantro 9 – the pool is open.

The other two pools are closed and we do not have a date at the moment when they will be opened.

Phase 2

Indico 48, Cilantro 8 – the pool is open

Indico 61.  – the pool is open

Adriático 4-6 Hinojo, 3 – the pool is currently being worked on, we hope to have it open by next Hjek.

Phase 4

Atlántico 176-178 Almizcle 3. The pool is currently being filled and should be ready at the end of this week.

Atlántico 7-9 Tomillo 3. The pool has been filled and should be open at the end of this Hjek.

Phase 6

Phase 7

Atlántico 42 Almizcle, 9. The pool is closed

Atlántico 22-24 Mejorana 8. This pool is open.

Atlántico 8-10 Cilantro 11. The pool is closed.

I am pressing them for a schedule but they are reluctant to give dates for openings "in case there are unforeseen problems"

Almizcle 10. we are currently working on this pool and do not yet have a date when it will be oponed.
There are currently no pools open on this phase and at present and we do have a date when they will be opened.
Phase 5Atlántico 200 Almizcle 4. The pool is open
Both pools in this phase, Jara 1 and Cilantro 1 are open
Indico 81, Ciltantro 7 – the pool is empty and we are currently working on it.

LydiaM,

Once filled, I would imagine it would be usable within a couple of days depending on the size of the pool.  Normally once filled it would be given a shock treatment of sanitiser (chlorine etc) and after that it would be maintained by PW or their contractor on a regular basis (depending on usage, time of year and how many people use it).

Pools in the early stages may need more cleaning than normal, but would still be useable.

However I have seen some developments where the pools have been filled and then left where within a couple of days you have a wildlife pond. ;))

Regards,

Steve.

Regarding the small phase 6 pool by Mejorana 10 I have just returned from HRGR after 2 weeks. Our pool is filled and looking very enticing and was at the call centre every other day regarding the anticipated opening. On Friday 27th two pool engineers came to work on it. As I don't speak Spanish fluently we had quite an interesting conversation with a lot of sign language, however the upshot is that there is no power to the pool. Without this power they cannot set the filters or pumps working. Once this is done and the chemicals are introduced I think the engineer said 2-2 1/2 hours

It would appear that there may be some major electrical problem in this area as we did not have stair lights in Indico 7 for the duration of our stay. Again we were at the call centre regarding this every other day but to no avail.

Our daughter will be out there for another 10 days so if there is any movement in this direction I will report.

Steve

Hi Parader

That was really helpful thank you, but worrying too! I'm over 22nd July and really want to use my own pool (rathe than treck a few hundred yards with loungers etc). Fingers croosed. Apparently, th epool was filled yesterday. I visited your pool (I think) when I was over 20th -22nd and it was murky then, and cordoned off.

Relax, our pool has not even water yet due no electrics, Yes i would like an early pre breakfast swim but it didnt stop us having a fanstastic time on the resort. and even swimming in pools that are open. You also  have the advantage of all the beach side and superb  faciilities of the Mar Manor on your doorstep. Im used to  swimming in Blackpool, there is no comparison. HRGC Is just great.

I agree, not moaning just impatient!! I love the resort and can't get over enough. I just think it will be amazing when the pool in my block is up and running, and I can share stories about the golf course after I get to play it in July!!

The latest info about the pools has been put on the Community Website today . However, people should be aware that even pools that are open have had to be closed recently for cleaning because faeces have been found in the water. I hope this is down to babies and not adults, but it is important that we all act responsibly and ensure children we are respomsible for always wear waterproof nappies when in the water. This has happened twice in the last two weeks.

The additional cleaning of the pool in these circumstances is paid for by the community, i.e. us.

Ron

Just to post some good news. I've just returned from a great two weeks on HRGR and apart from one or two minor issues, had a great stay. The pool (Romero 5) was FANTASTIC !

Just to back up what Paul said earlier, have family out at our place at min (Block 37 Jengibre 3), and they love it.

They say the pool is fantastic.

Steve.
