Hi just got our apartment on HR. Does anybody have any tips on how to recieve freeview channels without having to pay Polaris World 400 euros?

I dont think so we have an apt on phase 7 that is nearly ready to live in apart from the gas not being on! We made some enquiries and you can either get sky or buy a dish and reciever from maplins and tune it in yourself to the Astra 3 sattilite (V difficult to do yourself) I suggest you get it installed by an sky engineer.
I spent a day with a special meter that is supposed to locate the signal, with no luck. 
So my dish is back in the box waiting for someone who knows their stuff to emerge and help!
The only advantage I can think of for the PW tv is it is a one off payment where as sky of course is ongoing.

Do we really want satellite dishes being erected all over the buildings. I believe La Torre had this issue and eventually Polaris ,and I assume the Communities, came to an arrangment. If anyone can confirm this for the forum then great.
I'm a mad sports fan so I'm not saying we shouldn't have SKY but I think it would be a shame to have hundreds of dishes all over the apartment walls.

I agree, I don't think we want to look at lots of dishes.  I  thought we were supposed to get permission from the community ( Pepa at Resortalia)  as  I think our deeds say we are not allowed to erect them. 

The last I heard on La Torre; they could only install them if they had something like a chimney which the dish could be hidden by.
