Spanish animals that need help

All the time I hear about Spanish animals that need help one way or another so this is for those animals

STILL MISSING ON 3TH FEBRUARY: Sandy .. a tiny, 14 year old dog from Via Park 3, Los Altos near La Florida
Saturday, November 30, 2013

  January 23rd January

The only positive 100% sighting was on the 30th Nov when Sandy approached the Welcome Inn at Via Park 3. She was wearing her harness at the time and a guy gave her a dog treat. She was possibly seen again on 2nd Dec at the bins by Via Park 3. After that it's been maybe her might be her but hasn't been her.

  December 11th

Someone said Sandy was around here, Punta Marina, it's a shopping complex in Punta Prima. Mike went looking but had no joy!

  December 10th

This afternoon we all believed Sandy had been found, a lady actually had her in her arms but when her owner arrived it wasn't his dog. He's devastated. The dog that has been seen around Los Dolces presumably hasn't been Sandy. The dog who was picked up has run off after getting out of the lady's garden but she had spoken with someone about fostering it. A very sad day.

  December 8th

Posters are being put up in the area where Sandy was last seen. She was supposedly seen night before last when someone fed her the remains of their Chinese takeaway, which she ate. Sadly, they obviously weren't aware she was a missing dog & that people were out looking for her. By the time the owner was alerted she had gone.

  December 2nd.

Someone thought he saw Sandy at the back of Via Park 3 near the bins this morning, around 10:30 - 11am. The owner has gone to look in that area.

   December 1st.

Seems Sandy was maybe seen around the bars at Via Park 3 last night, a small dog was spotted there with a harness, Someone gave it a biscuit but it went scampering off.

-------------------------------------------------------

DETAILS

Mike Curtis lost his 13 year old dog yesterday. Sandy was last seen near Aldi near Via Park 3, Los Altos near La Florida.

She was wearing a blue harness with multicoloured stitching when she went missing. She is missing most of her teeth & her lip is always curled up, it's to do with her teeth & quite unusual.

She has a scar on her tummy from when she was spayed and it healed with a knobbly scar. She does not bite but maybe will be scared. Please pick her up & ring owner.

Sandy's chip no is 985100008154966 registered to Suzanne Marie Brady who is Mike's daughter in law. Mike's been trying to change details but, as with much of Spanish bureaucracy, it's not so easy.

If any could help please ring Mike on 965 319 765   or 693 749 135

You could post on the fb page here

Thank you!

Dolly update: cardiogram
Wednesday, November 13, 2013

Previous post about Dolly was http://www.eyeonspain.com/blogs/spanishanimalsthatneedhelp/11728/Prayers-needed-for-tiny-Dolly-please.aspx

Dolly update: A cardiogram was done on her this morning. It's showing she has two faulty heart valves..one much worse than the other.

On the good side this problem has shown itself before any serious damage is done. She also has acute bronchitis caused from the coughing.

Dolly is now being treated with pills to hopefully help with this condition, and so (fingers crossed) the coughing should ease off.

If, for any reason, it doesnt improve as much as we hope, the vet will prescribe VIAGRA!! Apparently this is used for heart conditions!

Thank God Dolly is female or we could be having other problems lol.

The vet has said she should live a normal healthy life once the meds kick in.

All the unexpected tests, X-rays, medications & vets bills generally have cost so much.

If you want to help it would be so appreciated.

Prayers needed for tiny Dolly please.
Tuesday, November 12, 2013

For those reading my blog posts on Angie Mccready & her own dogs, all rescued from intolerable situations, plus her fine work in fostering rescue dogs & puppies you may remember Dolly's story.

Dolly was found at the door of Angie's local pound, tied up in a plastic sack, traumatised, and in a right mess.

Angie took her home & adopted her. That was around two years ago. Dolly is thought to be 6-7 years old.

This is Dolly now.

UPDATE: Dolly has often had a cough & has been treated with anti inflammatories plus steroids.

9th November:
Angie posted on her Facebook page...
"For those people asking about Dolly...last night was horrendous. She coughed non stop, so this morning we took her to the animal hospital in Novela. They did some X rays of her trachea and her chest. She has a narrowing in her trachea, but not enough to make her cough so bad. Then they noticed she has an enlarged heart, which is pressing onto the trachea. It's this that's making her cough.

Dolly coughs almost all the time now. We are sooo tired ..no sleep for 3 weeks, and she must be exhausted as well, but nothing so far has worked with anti inflammatories or steroids."

11th November:
Angie told me "I've had to take her in again for another x ray, shes got a slight heart murmur now & has a cardiograph booked for 8am Wednesday 13th November. We are just praying after the cardiography they can give her something to stop her persistent coughing."

Please pray Dolly CAN be helped, she has been through such a lot. Her ongoing vet treatment has cost quite a lot so far & money is tight, if anyone would care to help in this that would be appreciated.
