I look down on to the pool between blocks 8 and 10, the gate is always shut apartfrom when they are working on it.

With due respect to both of you I walked up to the gate today. The lock was closed but the bar was outside the lock. We want to stop Shitalot (Manu's dog) releaving himself on the grass by the pool so the gate is shut but any human can easily open it.

 Hi David,

You walked by when maintenance was working. Raoul got his new instructions how to maintain the pool. Later on the plumber had to fix things so the gate was again open temporarily. The beginning and the rest of the day the padlock was in place effectively preventing humans to enter. The same situation as in the last few months except for two weeks around Easter.

Again we wouldn't have given  a discount if there were no grounds for it. Ask around. Lots of people are over at the moment and they all complain both the pools are closed. Why do you think we get all these questions?

Regarding the dog: did you speak with Manu about it? This is a serious and very personal accusation and as far as I can see without any grounds. Very strange to do this name calling.  You use the name his friends call him by so you must know him well I assume; why then not ask him in person?

Max

Max i see all the owners of dogs take there dogs for a walk and i have never seen 1 use a dog lead at don Juan and if they did  they could pull there dog away from the pool areas to prevent this.If you are talking about the dog owner that lives above me i yes i love that dog now ,i thought i would never say that in a million years and if i lived at don Juan i would buy a dog like that one as i have never her that dog bark, i just wish the dog on the corner of the our block was as good. All the dogs should be on a dog lead  and should not be on the grass area bye the pools bye Irene

Max,

I have better things to do with my time than monitor the pool gate all day but I checked again this morning and it is open again. You are on site and if you genuinely have an issue you would ask on site and the issue would be resolved.

Instead you choose to post on EOS because that way you can score points against the committee.

David, you seem to be the only one who thinks the pool has been open all the time. As you suggested I spoke to the maintenance man on site, he confirmed to me that the pool was closed last week and this week, because they were waiting for a replacement part for the filtering system. The good news is that it is fixed now, and while we spoke (15 minutes ago) he was busy removing the "pool closed" sign.

The children pool is still closed by the way, because they are working on getting the chemical balance right. It's always more difficult with the little shallow pools but he thought it wouldn't take long.

The second pool between block 6 and 7 has a problem with the tub itself. I saw a frogman going in there this morning, supposedly to fix it?

By the way: I am posting information here just like I have done ever since we bought the house in 2005. It's a good medium to inform many people at the same time and for some people it's important to know the situation of the pools before they come over or have guests staying in their apartment.

Well done to Saskia finally for asking someone on site what the situation is something Max / Saskia could quite easily have done long ago & reported here as information instead of bickering about it & making a big hoo haa about it here on this forum!

RG, if you had read all my posts rather than just searching in it for points to contradict you would have notice that I do talk a lot with the maintenance people on site and report about it here often. They are not always aware however of the political or tactical reasons from the comittee behind some of the desicions they are asked to carry out. They speculate about it, but it seemed better to ask the comittee directly.

I am in quite an difficult position here, since on the one hand the comittee asks to direct questions and problems to them directly and in private, but when we brought for example our worries about the pool-situation under attention of the comittee by private e-mail, we were here on the forum publicly told off for wasting the comittees time. On the other hand, David urges me to find out things for myself and seek my own answers, but if I do that and report about it I get told off as well for not contacting the comittee first. Last but not least, there are some things I can't sort out myself because I am not part of the comittee, for instance applying for the license for the second pool and getting certain information from the Town Hall.

Seems that in the eyes of some people I can't do anything right, glad I have at least your approval now ;).

Saskia unlike yourself I do not have time to spend searching through all the various posts. This topic was started by Max stating that the 'pool is closed and does anyone know what is the reason for it' and after all this bickering you and Max have talked to someone on site and asked the reason for it and got an answer which seeing as you and Max spend 100% of your time on the complex should have done in the first place instead of making an issue of it here.

I wonder if all your renters who are making such a fuss about the pools as reported by you & Max, would actually ask for their money back if the pools were open (I don't know if they were or were not) & they found them too cold to use. Apart from maybe one odd day in the past few months it has been too cold to actually use the pool. If I had renters I would advise them that it may not be possible to use the pool as it isn't heated & the weather isn't really hot enough to heat the pool sufficiently.

Certainly in many hotels along the coast even now you do not see many people in the pools unless it is heated, only the very brave or stupid!

Compare this latest series of posts with last years question:

Hi all why  is the pool closed?is it becouse the tiles are off ?or no licence?bye irene

06 Aug 2008 12:55 AM max!
Actually we closed the pool because the mud in front of the swimming pool ladders was too dangerous. It got so worse that there was a severe chance someone would slip and fell on the concrete edge around the pool. It will open again within days.

There were some further questions and suggestions which I all answered the same day. At the end I promised that the pool would open again within two days which happened. Click on page 4 of this thread if you want to reread it.

No paranoia, no dodging the question, no insults, no bickering. Just a question about an important aspect of Don Juan which got answered in straightforward way. I hope we can get back to this kind of discussions on EOS.

Max

Hey who lives in 2009 but again goes back to last year - which was 2008!!

Saskia, again you display some common sense and I cannot fault that.

However Max's game of oneupmanship with the committee, in particular comments directed at one person,is wholly unacceptable. You are part of the community and if you genuinely care at all, you will go about helping to fix things when they are wrong - instead you appear to do your utmost to score points on EOS. It is really not necessary and you do yourself an injustice in the eyes of the users of this forum.  For Pete's sake don't let your self interests colour your judgement.

As I understand it, many places on Costa Del Sol do not declare their summer season open until late May each year - in some places the pools are empty in April. So why are these renters making such a song and dance about the pools? Could the manufactured fuss be a strategy to get a discount they don't actually deserve - try get a better class of customers in future.

As for security, Dema you are astute.  As observed by some, if there is someone happy to snoop around the blocks to check the cleanliness, then we certainly do not need  a security guard.

Jenx, you ordered me before by PM not to reply to you anymore, so please refrain from personal remarks and allegations. You're clearly not interested in my answers so there is not much use to keep posting your dislike of me and my husband here. Everything you have to say to me you can do so in my face next time you are over, i will delete any further pm's from you without reading them.

Saskia

I paid you a compliment - how unfortunate to learn your reaction! How clumsy of me (acknowledgement  - The Sound of Music)

I have  not send any PMs so no deletion necessary.

RG, you already commented at least 5 times about how much free time I have on my hands. If you are really interested I can post a bit about how I spend my days in the chit-chat topic because that is more suitable for that subject.

I like to spend some of my free time in the swimming pool (which is the subject of this thread) with my daughter and I am looking forward to the summer when I will be able to do that with her everyday. I am very happy the issues with the pool have been solved and it is open now and safe to swim in. I notice the maintenance guys are checking the water quality every day now (as is the law) and I am really pleased by that. Big thumbs up for the comittee for getting this sorted!

Dear All,

The pool was closed today because of a power cut so the installation cannot keep the pool running.

Endesa seems to cut our community power every month because we are in depth with them.

Also the street lights will not work then.

We managed to negociate a 4 month period to pay our depth  but in their computer system we still are depthors

Anyway Gigs will send them a bureaufax to end the power cut again.

I spoke to Irene today who was really upset about it.

But things happen in spain and its not completely in our hands.

Sorry for the in conveiniance

Best regards,

Rene

Rene a correction to your post the pools where open 3 days and closed for 5 days while i was there even when they are open they are not clean enough to use as always  when i am there and they need to be made a priority as most owners want to have access to a least 1 pool bye Irene
