Does anyone know about green areas? Will developer lay seed - and we WAIT for grass to grow? Or will they use 'rolls' of pre-grassed sod?

Good question Alan, I would guess at seed as waiting has never been a problem for our developers. I hope they put turf down but whars the chances?.

Hello all,   from a sunny but very cold Fuengirola.    I went around the show flat again last week with Perla and she informed me that the green areas are to be turfed not seeded, so thats a quicker option (for the first time).  We are only waiting for the roads now. the kirb-stones are been put in place up the hill to the development, it is coming together slowly but surely.   Martin

Calv was told by Perla that they were going to turf the common areas. If she is to be believed then they will want to leave it as long as possible because once laid the turf will need to be regularily watered or it will quickly die and there is no sprinkler system. There is nothing in the contract to say they will turf either the communal areas or the individual gardens. does anyone have any written confirmation on this?

If we want to have grass long term the community will need to instal a sprinkler system - another item to add to our wish list!

Any sign of  the palm trees being planted around the complex. They show these on their brochure, and also on their website http://www.arrohabitatge.com/html/principal.htm  or is this another thing that has slipped their mind.

Has all the turf been laid on the Phases 1 & 2 now? Also did you find any changes since I took the photos on the 14th March, especially in the road next to the train?

Virtually all the turfing is done. There are sprinkler systems set into the ground. Still no sign of any palm trees as promised in the brochure photo. The common areas inside of your fenced off terrace area is just left as dirt,  and is down to you to do what you want with it. I think I will try and  get the same tiles that the developer used, to keep it low maintenance. Lots of ggardeners  on site today. Will post lots of photos taken today soon.

The security gaurd at the Don Juan entrance told me on Sunday that they were tarmacing it next weekend, and that it would take 3 days. Dont hold your breath on that though. Will post lots of photos taken today soon.

Hello

Does anyone know what is happening to the "no mans land" between the two fences at the front of the development.  There seems to be tyre tracks all the way up from the foot of the hill near the entrance to the other side of the development if you look at the recent photos indicating that there is some sort of activity going on.  I asked Perla at Easter but she had no idea.

Hi SRS, I saw this when I was up there last week. It looks to me like the railway company have been going up there as they have installed a new fence I think those tyre tracks were made by vehicles used by the railway contractors to carry materials up to site.

dose anyone know if the developer is going to do any garden areas with flowers etc, or plant Nice flowering shrubs along all the horrid green fences , saw this done in another development and it made all the difference to the green fence as after a few months you could not see the fences. Maybe the management company might do this kind of planting as we are all paying a yearly fee, speaking of which dose anyone know how much this yearly fee is?

Hi eoin,

I don't think any of us know for sure but certainly we were told that the communal areas would have 'lush tropical gardens' and by that I took it to mean more than just grass. Unfortunately like some of the promoters sales talk, it seems to be just that - talk.  (Like the promised direct access to the beach through the tunnel!)   I think even those of us who don't have the garden apartments would like the fences to 'disappear' behind planting. Unless it is done on the communal side I can't see this happening though as many of us won't be around enough to look after planting on the 'private' side.   If the builders don't do it I guess it is something to be brought up at the community meetings.

Michelle
