Only 5 weeks to go, been planning this trip all year. Have we forgotton anything?

Driving licences, both parts, Passports, Triangle in case of breakdown, High vis jackets, European breakdown insurance, tell our insurance company were taking the car out of the country...

Anymore tips? Sooooooo looking forward to this, been wanting to do this for 25 years but getting scared now.

Travelling on sea cat from Weymouth to St Malo, overnight in St Malo, down to Madrid for another overnight stay, then down to Benalmadena.

Vynehound Hi;

Northern and some parts of Central spain have had their first serious snowfalls of the year, affecting the Cantabrian and Pyrennean mountains. Since the recommended route southward from  Bordeaux, and San Sebastian down to Burgos covers these ranges you might want to think in terms of snowchains ...just in case...and practice putting them on...in the dark...

Obviously cannot comment on whether the snow will last but better safe than sorry; also once you get close to Jaen you will be crossing another mountain range and snow may again be a problem.

Can I suggest you purchase a high power LED spotlight which can be recharged either from the main or from the car. There isn't a lot of daylight around Christmas and St Malo to Madrid in one hop is fairly lengthy so some of your driving will definitely be in the dark...

Good luck with the trip.

 I believe you should also have a spare set of bulbs for the car.
