META stuff?

Hi -
I manage my own website. I feel I should be paying more attention into what I should be placing in the :-
META title
META Description
META keywords
I have only a layman's instinct as to what I should be putting in there, presumably to boost SEO spiders etc. Any suggestions anyone? Cheers. Mike
