Hi - I have a 3 double bedroom apartment in Riviera - close to sea and amenities - which I have had for 7 years.  I do not know whether to attempt to sell now or wait to see what happens to house prices.  Also, I am unsure as to how the costs will stack up if I sell and do not buy again in SPain.  Can anyone offer an opinion wrt to best estate agents to sell through/best legal adviser/best accountants etc.

Many thanks

Frangemini

The good news is that if you are lucky enough to sell now, you are unlikely to have any capital gain on which to pay tax.

The best agent to use is likely to be the most local - there's probably not too many to choose from any more. If you can be in Spain for signing any sale you don't really need to use a lawyer. All you need to do is bank the cheque and then pay any plus valia tax due - the town hall will tell you how much and how to pay. Other than that, the agent should advise you on what paperwork you need to provide prior to completion. (last rates bills, utiliy bills, letter from your community stating fees up to date etc.)
