Hi M & H,

Welcome to EOS. If you register (it's free) on the 'New Developments' board you will find other purchasers of property at Condado de Alhama.

Just 'click' on'Forums' at the top left hand side of this page and follow the instructions and links to your development.

I hope your completion goes well and that we see you back here to let us all know how you are settling in to your new home.

Hi Martin, Hannah

I completed in the Jardines in July.  The development is fantastic, and getting better by the day as facilities increase.  Definately head for the new development forum, the Condado section is getting pretty big and there are lots of photos and posts.  The threads often include a suggestion for meetings in the bar to get to know other residents, so it is a great place to start.

Hello Ted

Sorry for the late reply.

Hannah and I are out on the 17 Jan only for one night as weve got the Air Con being installed, also I just want to see the property.

Purchased quite a few bits and bobs for the Kitchen and Bathroom in M&S in the UK, going to load up the suit case and bring them out.

Do you have any suggestions for the purchase  of White Goods for the Kitchen?

We cant wait for Spring to come we will be out for a couple of weeks.

In Eltham and Nararjos Jadin 2.

Martin

Carrefour and Leroy Merlin will be able to supply most of your requirements, dont forget to grab a "discount card" at Carrefour as it all adds up1

Good luck

They are the equivalent of Costco come Sainsburys (Carrefour) and Homebase come Wickes (Leroy Merlin) and to my knowledge are nationwide, so either way theu should be reasonable close, that said it will probably pay you to rent an estate type car for your visit as nearly everything can be picked up on site.

The Thader centre in Murcia (about 30 minutes drive) has 2 large supermarkets (Eroski and Alcatel) and Electrical shops, such as Saturn.  Most offer free delivery.  There is a Carrefore around there too, but I don't know where it is.  There is also an IKEA for furnishing (if you don't want to pay for the furniture packs!) and Primark for various bits and pieces in the same complex, or just across the road.

There is a post on the Condado messageboards with directions. Good luck.

Ill keep you posted on our progrees, its nice to hear from someone who has posative things to say about Polaris, however you only hear of complaints and never the good points.

Although, from day one of putting down a deposit its been a smoth process for us.

We completed on Jardin 5 in July and are extremely happy with our purchase.

We went over in November to furnish and it turned out to be more straight forward then we expected.

If you haven't already done it, have a look on the Condado de Alhama off plan development forum.  There are loads of tips on where the best places are to get furniture etc.  We got our sofa from Polaris, furniture from Zbedz and had numerous trips to Ikea and Primark.

Many people we know have used real domestic appliances for electrical items.

Good luck

Hello Michael

Thanks for the advice, obviously because of the way the Pound is against the Euro we will be furnishing over the next 12 months rather than in one hit, although when we pop out on the 17th Jan 09 we have 2 cases loaded with odds and ends for the appartment.

The next purchases shall be a Sofa and Bed.

Hi we are hoping to complete on our property in Los Naranjos Jardine 4 January/Feb 2009 we went to see the property at the end of November and are delighted with the complex etc but are unhappy with Polaris as we were not due to complete until Sept 2009 there are lots of people in the same position however can't fault the development just finding the process stressful due to Polaris.

Regards Angela & Tony

Hello There

Our Appartment was due for complition Feb 2009, yet it would appear that Polaris are a somewhat  quicker builder than the average Spanish Contractor.

Although this suited us, appart from the Euro against Pound.
