Living on the outskirts of a small town in Spain has many advantages which appeals to lots of people. You are not isolated and can walk to all amenities and do not have to uses a car everyday

One such attractive town is Vera in Almeria. A population of circa 6695 ,it is just the right size to have a personal feel .Lots of narrow streets and plazas filled with cafes, tapas bars, restaurants and all kinds of shops, including a large supermarket.

Here a nice one bedroom apartment will cost you from 116.287 € [I can certainly get you a free furniture just now!!…. , so moving in is hassle free] Very popular with the Spanish and you know there is something to be said for buying where the locals buy

The beach is not far away and in due course the local high speed train will have a station at Vera ,making the whole of Spain easily accessible

Here’s some background information:- Vera is a renaissance town in the levante area. It is centrally located for easy access to the main E15 Autovía taking you to Almería city, the south coasts, Murcia and the North and the new toll road to Cartagena

Originally called Baria and located at Villaricos (Rich Village, due to silver mining industry) Vera relocated in the 13th century to the ground it stands on today. The Christian conquest in 1488, a massive earthquake in 1518 and the Moorish rebellion in 1568 have all contributed to the character of the town and its inhabitants.
There are many wonderful pieces of architecture and folklore to be explored. Much of which is lovingly explained in the Ethnographic and Archaeological Museum. Spain is well known for its fiestas and street parties and Vera is no exception. With such a rich history and a sense of value the Spanish take every opportunity to remind visitors and young ones alike of their culture. The Plaza de Toros (Bullring), built in 1879 is the setting for many fiestas, bull fighting and other cultural displays.
But don’t be fooled into thinking this is a sleepy old town stuck in the past. Vera has merged its history with the requirements of modern life superbly. It is a bustling hive of activity and has a wonderful eclectic mix of shop, bars and restaurants to suit all tastes.

Saturday is market day where the whole of the main street becomes a market place where you can buy anything from a frying pan to beautiful rugs, handbags, shoes and much more.

So if you are looking to buy in Spain in a convenient location with all facilities on your door step, have a look at Vera in Almeria
