Hello from Troythecat

Hi all on EOS, I have missed speaking to you all...due to being unfaithful and using another forum only because there are a few others moving to/already living in the area I am going to!  BUT I've had enough...can't take any more negativity...or watching people being slagged off...or their genuine need for support posts being "hijacked" by others having humorous conversations between them!

I want to come back here if you'll have me ...please? 

Based on the other forum which of course I won't mention, I am,

(a) going to a thirld world area to live

(b) no infrastructure

(c) The Spanish hate us

(d) I won't be able to communicate with the outside world

(e) Hubby will NEVER find work...he's in the building trade

(f) Schhols are rubbish

(g) my house will be illegal Amongst others.

Georgia if you read this you'll be having a chuckle. I am so glad I didn't come across that forum before deciding to buy in Spain, and do miss the friendly and helpful people on this forum. I am all for being realistic, but can't deal with any more negativity.

House has been on the market here for 9 weeks now with 10 viewers...couple of viewers interested so hopefully not too much longer

I don´t think I´ve seen you post before as I was away for a while.

I think I know the negative forum you refer to, it is rather gloomy though it is the usuall handfull of people.

and hello from another happy ex pat.  Think the type of people you mention would either have or find problems wherever they are.  Not saying it is all plain sailing but well worth the effort, good luck with the house sale.

I did forget to list another important point. Our 4 bed 3year old house currently works out at £150 per month based on a years bills for gas & electric. That's with no heating on between 10pm-7am. However, apparently I am not to assume this is another cost that will reduce when we move to Spain? and we won't even have central heating!

The forum in question should come with a health warning...BEWARE, READING ON HERE WILL CAUSE SLEEPLESS NIGHTS!

All our bills here, water, electric, gas (by bottle), phone, suma and Community charge come to less than what we were paying in Council tax in the U.K.  Also you can have central heating installed here I understand the average cost is around 3,000 euros about the same as the U.K.

with the increasing costs of just trying to live in the UK, we were sure we would be cutting this down

Currently paying £173 per month for council tax, £150 per month gas/elec ! Not to mention fuel prices and others.
