My wife and I have recently sold one of our spanish properties and wanted to get the euros back into sterling while the euro is strong against the pound. After a lot of ringing around we found out that if you write a personal spanish cheque the bank will not charge a sending fee. We ordered our cheque book (it took a week to arrive at the bank) We found that  the only currency broker that could clear the cheque quickly was HIFX. They did not charge us a penny. We received a very good rate only slightly off of the rate we see advertised on the news. It took 5 days to clear the cheque and the pounds were deposited into our English account within 24 hours of the cheque clearing. We were dubious to see if any charges had been taken and were impressed to see that the amount agreed was exactly what we received. Companies that do what they say are very rare indeed, nice to see that honour of service still exists in the world.

Thanks,

Edward Davey.

Great 1st post Edward & glad it all worked out for you ok. There are many posts about various currency companies, HIFX, included in the Transferring money to Spain board too.
