Driving a Spanish reg car in France on a uk lic

can we take our Spanish reg car to France when we go on hol when we only have a uk licence 

When you say you only have a UK license, is that true? Is it not in fact an EU license? Or is it so old that it is a paper job? If it is in fact an EU license I believe you can drive anywhere within the EU whatever nationality the car is.

Of course if the loons decide that UK leaves the EU then naturally things will change for the worse!

Thanks for your reply  I have an EU licence but we have been told so many different stories we were not sure so it's nice to hear someone with the same thoughts as us
