What is the process for registering with the Social Security office in Spain?

Hi,
Does anyone know what the process is for registering with the social security office in Spain? In particular, what documents to I need to provide/fill in?

I think it depends on the reason you need to register with them . When i registered to get my SS number so i could get an NIE for work i had to take my passport, padron, and employment contract. No form to fill in just showed up with paperwork and number was issued. Best thing to do is pop in and ask....or check british consul website as they usually have info on things like this.
