When you handed your property back did you get any paperwork from the bank ? Did you sign a dacion ?

Hi, I am sorry to hear of your plight,

In my opinion a bank secures the mortgage on the property in Spain,

I really cannot believe that thet can legally come after you in the U.K. 

It is best to get LEGAL ADVICE, have you got details of the amount that they want?

Do you have a copy of the original contract?

As has been mentioned in a previous poster on this thread you need to get some independent legal advice as this is becoming a very common practice, lawyers offering the Spanish Banks services on a no win no fee basis, and it is a fairly simple process for them to start, if you have UK assets

Does anyone know how this was resolved, have Spanish banks been able to recover debts from UK assets?
