There is so much information on this website I get completely confused!  We are moving to Costa Blanca South over the next few weeks and are a little worried about all the bad stories of dodgy estate agents and lawyers around.  We are going to be looking around the Orihuela coast and will propbably rent for the first 3 months.  Does anyone know of reputable agents and lawyers based in that area.  Also once you have found a property you like, and decide to put an offer in, can that offer be subject to all the necessary checks on that property before purchasing.  P.S. Noticed that Costaluz Lawyers who advertise on this website are often recommended but they are not based in Costa Blanca South, has anyone in this area used them?

Thanks Lori

Dont be put off by all the horror storys.

People are just angry because they came to spain with the best intentions of having a relaxed lifestyle and ended up pennyless and in serious debt.

The really bad periods have somewhat passed a little and many of the really corrupt people and thieves have moved on to other pastures.

If you just do obsessive due diligance and be aware that spain is not the uk and regulated like the uk you should be ok.

Hi Lori.

My house is in your area.

If you want the name of one agent to avoid ask me via private message, i had them to sell our house and when i went back some weeks later they had left it fully unlocked, and denied it, biggest bunch of cowboys going.

Went with another agent and she sold the house withing 5/6 days, 1000% she is. Totally honest.

Lawyers i have one in Spain, this company has every type of lawyer that speaks every language, it's one of the best  (but that is only my opinion)...they are all crooks, it's just some are a more honest crook then others.

Why should be wrong?

Be cautious ( as you are in your country when buying a house) and if you feel more safeguard, hire a lawyer of trust.

Things were very mad in the past with over financing, financial and real estate boom, but now the scenario is completely different

Hello Maria

I tried to contact Costaluz via the website but got no answer, I was asking if they operated in The Orihuela Coastal area and whether they offered a conveyancing service there ?

Thanks Lori

they normally get back to people very quickly but as you can imagine with spain collapsing and so many people trying to get their life saving back they are very busy.

they will surely get back to you soon.
