Over in Spain at the moment and every Bancaja branch and AT'M in my area is now closed. This includes Mazarron, Cartagena and even the Caja Madrid branch in Cartagena where ATM withdrawals were free. Left with the choice of the Servired machines at a 1% fee

It is almost like the bank has gone out of business, terrible for customers in the area

For free ATM withdrawals, the nearest ATM is now about 50km away! I think closure of the account and transfer to a more convenient provider is called for

It should be worth a claim against Bankia for recovery of the fee charged, since their (original) rules stated that in the event of the local ATM being non-functioning, they would credit your account with twice the fee charged.

I used to go to the bank in San Antonio in Ibiza.

I never used online banking as I always just called them up on the phone to do everything.

I have set up online banking ages ago but can remember any of my details.

They have now closed down and merged with bankia in ibiza town.

Im in london and need to speak to them to get my details but I cant get through to anyone as they dont answer the phone.

Im in ibiza next week so I can go in and wait in the hour que to see someone.

I was wondering is there a central customer services number that speaks english  (my spanish is not good enough yet) which you can phone to  resolve these types of queries.

The phone number quoted on the entry page for English speakers is quoted as 0034 902 11 40 15. Good luck!
