Translation is my job, therefore I need to earn money doing it, although I don't charge friends. People willingly pay other professionals, like lawyers, gestores, estate agents, web designers, etc and they charge a lot more. Why shouldn't translators charge a modest amount for their work? After all we are mostly graduates and highly trained.
