To the Airport

Hi

We have an apartment in Palomares and I wondered what would happen if we never had the use of a hire car.

Does anybody have any idea how we could get by public transport to both Alicante and Murcia ( San Javiar) Airport from Palomares?

Is it possible or not?

what about the private individuals who do airport runs?

Ok maybe I am being dense but do you mean Palomares in Almeria? 

If yes, you can catch a bus into Murcia and then pick one from Murcia (city) to to Almerica.  Not sure if there are any other options but this is the only one I know about.

A bus leaves only three times per day, Latbus, number 73 (tel: +43(0)968 250 088) between the airport and Murcia. The departure times from the airport to Murcia are 17:45, 19:15 and 22:45. From Murcia to the airport, the bus leaves at 13:00, 15:15 (only Monday, Friday and Saturday) and 17:30, a ticket costs €7.00, and travel time is approximately 45 minutes.

I stay in Palomares near Vera and Villaricos.

Sometimes I fly into either San Javiar ( Murcia) or ALICANTE so I was looking for information to get from Plaomares to both airports.

Unfortunately there is no flights to ALMERIA airport from Scotland.

Thanks for the info but this does show unfortunately that Murcia airport to Palomares is only available if you arrive before 17.45 Monday to Friday and not at all on Saturdays.

 Try and contact Paul from Homes & Beyond as he knows someone who does airport transfers.  I know they charge 80 euros each way from Almeria airport to Palomares I would imagine it would be slightly higher from Murcia airport.  I am using PJ car rentals when I come out to Palomares in August (from Murcia airport) .  They have quoted me 388 euros for 2 1/2 weeks car hire (Golf) but unlike normal car hire companies they collect you from the airport and deliver you to your house and your car will be waiting outside.  They also leave the car with you a 1/4 full and expect you leave it the same.  I thought this was quite a good deal considering the price of hire cars in August.  I believe they may even let you have the car for a few days and not your whole holiday if you want.

Why not check the cost of staying overnight in a cheap hotel, then catching the bus in the morning?  It might prove to be cost effective!

I have an Alicante Airport guide and there's a bus which runs from Airport to Murcia.  Details from guide:-

The price is very reasonable as it costs  2.60 to get the C-6 into Alicante.
