basically i got pulled over by the guardia civil yesterday,  simple speeding ticket. and they wanted 100 euros on the spot. trouble was i only had around 90 on me, so that was the car impounded, ticket went to 200 euro and after the grua came and took the car they left US at the side of a road in the middle of nowhere, me my partner and 2 20 month old babies!!!!!! 5 in the evening, scorching heat, no shade!!! they we're basically laughing at us and when i said you cant just leave us here they laughed and said your not in England anymore!!!. refused to give me there names so all i got was there registration plates of the cars. will be getting the car back tomorrow so aint worried about  that, i just want something done about the way they treated my partner and my kids.  Any advice will be greatly appreciated, Dave

I;m sure I have seen this post on the forum before but anyway...

The GC will have issued you with a Statement of the Offence.

The Statement includes, at the bottom of the form, details of the officers identification and the cuartel from which they operate.

On the reverse of the side of the form are details of how to pay the fine, how to dispute the fine and how to complain.

Also check out this link dgt.es for the same information.

BTW marked guardia civil vehicles all have number plates including the letters PGC.

A complaints book is available at all Guardia Civil stations.

There is also an email address :

 sugerencias@guardiacivil.org

Or phone 900 101 062,  fax 900 102 062 Dirección General de la Guardia Civil.

Have you ever thought that you may have fallen victim to a well known con-trick?

I only ask because there is no 200 Euro fine... it's 100 with a reduction to 50 if paid on the spot or in accordance with the rules laid out on the dgt website. The next fine group is 300 reduced to 150...

This from the DGT website...

wouldn't surprise me, as they asked for 100 to begin with then kept adding on 50 euros!!! i just cant understand why they took the car when it is fully legal and i had the family on board, if i was drunk or had no insurance then of course, take the car but leaving us in the middle of no-where, thats not right surely!!!!!

All the missus wants to do now is move back to the UK, don't blame her.
