Hello, we have just moved from Andalucia area to Castellon. Does anyone know what we do or where we go the have the address change where the car is concerned so that we will get our Car Tax papers in the post for next year.

Thank you

Jean

I am Located in the Murcia area. My Road Tax was due last month. I waited for the reminder arriving at my Post Box, But none came. So I went to the town hall in Mazarron to ask and pay. This I was told I could not do as on the Matriculation issued by Traffico in Carthaginian at the time of transfer of ownership  recorded my address as shown on my NIE which was La Manga Club.

So where the reminder went to Who Knows.

So back to Traffico in Carthaginian to do the change of address showiong my Padron. Simple task

They issued me an address blank matriculation and a form with my new address on.

I then went to the hacienda office in the Carthagina Town hall to see if  could Pay.

The Answer was No.

Go Back to mazarron they said.

This I did the next day showing my new documents from Traffico Carthagina.

Again I asked to Pay They said NO

I asked when and where I could Pay they said Next Year. Yes  know that payment is made at the bank.

I do hope that if I get stopped by the Police they see that due to a change of address and the documents I have from Traffico all is OK.

Am I right in thinking that I will be able to pay later or for both next year ?

Anybody else.

dolben...

According to the dgt website, change of registration address should be made at your local town hall.

Taking the case of Benicassim as an example, the information looks like this...

For more information check out. http://dgt.es/portal/es/oficina_virtual/vehiculos/cambio_domicilio/

El Alamillo...

Hopefully now the new matriculation address is correct in which case your next bill should come from your local Town Hall.

If it doesn't happen until next year, then it looks like youve got a year free!

The police are not interested in road tax unlike the Uk

It is a debt that accumulates with the ownershipof the car

You never get a year "free" they will add extra charges to the unpaid tax, which by the next year could be as much as double what you would have paid.
Taxes are always issued at the SUMA office. for property and cars that is where you should go

Taxes are always issued at the SUMA office.

This is only the case for people living in the Alicante region.

Suma Gestión Tributaria (Suma) is a public body, set up by the Provincial Council of Alicante (Spain) in 1990.

Its mission is to administer and collect municipal taxes for the Town Councils of the province of Alicante.
