New roof on old building...

Has anyone any experience of having had a new roof put on an old property? We need to, but don't really want to replace wooden beams with metal or concrete ones. Any help gratefully received! Donna

We had concrete vigas with polystirene between for stength and insulation,then the old wood beams were put under the vigas to give it the original character, you wouldnt know that there is concrete there.

Consult a good architect and make sure the job is done right!
Someone's roof fell in this year under the rain and killed them and it was all down to a botched building job I believe!
