Hello all,

I spend hours going all round the site and getting extremely confused where to add a thread or reply so i have created a new one!!

My sister is moving to Marbella and will be renting a house unfurnished - she hasnt much cash so is looking to purchase basically a whole house worth of second hand furniture. She is renting unfurnished as it was the only house near us available.

Does any one know of any second hand furniture shops we could try or in your experience best place to pick up this sort of thing?

M

Hi Janice,

Thanks for your reply - very helpful. I am going to go to Angel Furniture on Friday my day off.

It seems you really do have knowledge of most things!

Jean's Empoium 952 793 578 is beachside between San Pedro and Estepona - not far from Selwo. She buys and sells second-hand furniture and likes to deal by the houseful. There is an also an auction house in La Cala, near the petrol station, where they sell all sorts including furniture. Some of it is from show homes, some brand new bankrupt stock, still wrapped, and some just plain old second-hand. I understand that viewing is on a Monday morning, with the auction kicking off at about 6pm. Bargains are often to be had. She would probably have a great evening's entertainment there, too!

Sr Nicks (opposite McDonalds) in Estepona has second hand furniture downstairs, but to be honest I don't think it's particularly cheap.

There is also a "Trading post" in Sabinillas with some second hand stuff too.

Can't think of anywhere else.

Justin

Hi,

Thanks very much for all the information. We went to Sr Nicks and agree Justin, not cheap. The Auction sounds like good fun, although i tend to be bit dangerous with that sort of thing and end up spending a fortune on things I dont need.

Am going to try and get to Jeans tomorrow as this sounds perfect.

Again thanks for the information, really helpful.

Hi all

I'm sitting in Hong Kong reading your messages about 2nd hand furniture ... it is very common here to buy 2nd hand furniture as expats come in and out so regularly and often for 2 years only ... so I too want to buy 2nd hand for a 2 b/r flat we have bought for hols in Riviera del sol.

How did you get on Matilda?

My other plan was maybe to hike up to IKEA .. we have that in Hong Kong too and I've already seen stuff which is OK and I reckon I can do basic beds, sofa beds etc. for about 800 pounds sterling ... silly to spend loads for holiday place which only we will use ....

Any other ideas?

Wendy

Hi

I am moving permanently to Spain at beginning of June, am bringing some of my furniture with me and as my apartment, that we have only used sporadically, is already furnished I have some surplus funiture that I am looking to dispose of.

I have 2 single beds bought from the bed shop just past san pedro, 2 cream single wooden headboards and a matching 3 drawer chest. I also have a King size wooden cream headboard , two matching bedside cupboards and and large matching 4 drawer chest, the beds have only been slept in a handful of times  and not by young chilldren. all in fab condition, and very good quality solid wood not mdf or veneer, would like a couple of hundred euros for the lot just to make some space and help with my shipping costs if anyone is interested.

Regards

Barbara

Hi Barbara,

We would be very interested in the two single beds, bedside cupboards, 3 and 4 drawer chests but wouldnt have any need for the headboards. Have you already sold these items or would you be happy to sell these separate to the headboards?

Would it be possible to send me a picture if you have one?

Many thanks

Moderator,

If you care to read the post, the apartment has been sold.

The post was for furniture that the purchaser does not want.

The second post stated that the furniure could be viewed on that site.

Why don;t you re-edit back to the post as writtn?

I know that I say this to everyone but it might be worthwhile just making a trip to IKEA for some cheap basics.
