I certainly agree with this last post.

What is the process for complaint i.e who to and how as you can be sure that once something is signed off then you can guarantee there will be no further works done on this problem.

I have written to Marisol about the lakes as she is the Administrator of Phase 1 and her email is info@housingcomunidades.com

She is the person who needs to know if owners are happy or not: Alternatively you can email the President and if you want to have her email address please PM me.

Tango

I don't think it will be long before you are running for president.  People are only trying to suggest things which are helpful in the short term.  You just want to control the resort.

Having spoken to the manager of the Clubhouse, he told me that it will be 2010 before the "big hole" is replaced by the Hotel and commercial area.

I also mentioned dress code and he informed me that they have had no guests eating in the clubhouse in footie shirts.  As a keen football fan he did say that they had Teddy Sherringham over last week.  He is a member and has bought a villa at Roda.  Also the wrong side of 40.  Watch out Gazza may be over next!

All we need now are a few WAGS.  Now what would you make of that?

Tut! Tut!

Nice one Mark,

Too many people full of themselves. I agree standards should be set but not at the price of enjoyment of all.....relax it takes all sorts to fill the world.

Cheers Bellisj

Thanks Bellisj

Walked round Roda today in my Leopardskin thong.  Everyone smiled and said hello.

It was Armani.  Think Tango would have been impressed.

I agree, with last couple of posts, it was raining at Roda on Friday and a load of very well dressed golfers (not a football shirt in sight) all parked their buggies in front of the lifts and the stairs, also the clubhouse and changing rooms, no way to pass them and access the clubhouse, one of the buggies was parked on the white stones feature, clearly somebody fancied a bit of "off roading"

When I did eventually negotiate the obstacle course, I was greeted by a load of golf bags blocking the entrance to the clubhouse, both inside and out, very poor show.

Personally, I would prefer to see the football shirts than these golfing yobs, stop worrying about what people wear and be more concerned about their behaviour and their consideration for others.

Incidentally, I am not a football fan and I am a member of the Roda golf club with golf user rights and a fanatical golfer.

Marvin

I totally agree with your comments.  Was at Roda recently when a minibus full of English golfers arrived at the clubhouse.  They stunk of beer and were totally abusive to the staff, who sadly had to stand there and take it.

I aired my views and they grunted in return, dragging their knuckles on the ground as they set off for the 1st tee.

From previous posts I feel sorry for the poor guy who Tango had a go at.  To wear a football shirt and walk with your kids aint a crime.  What harm was he doing?

I wonder what happens at La Manga club when Real Madrid come to stay in the 5* Hotel, train and play golf?

Clearly Tango would find it a bit much if they stayed at Roda.

From speaking to the manager he says it's only the Lounge thats open at the moment and not the Restaurant , so there may be a dress code when it opens.

When in the Lounge I observed teenagers with shorts and T Shirts sitting there with their parents doing no-one any harm.

Think some people should get a life.

  Hi All

Love this forum!!!! One minute this thread is on the water features and the next we are back to the club house??  But as we are talking about the club house, maybe there are some people that just don’t care if Roda has no standards and maybe they would like a stall selling rock with Roda Golf going through the middle and ‘kiss me quick’ golf hats on sale on the 9th tee.  I think some people are getting Roda Golf confused with Polaris World, How Sad!!!!

Love to all

Hi Marvin, nice to see you have a sense of humour .....................not.

Anyway, if you think football shirts and shorts look ok in the club house, in the evening, on grown men, good for you. Personally I still think they look a bit naf. Still wouldn’t life be boring if we all thought the same.

And now back to the water features.

I wrote last week to Roda and had a moan about the water features, and surprise, surprise no response.  I will be there tomorrow and ask in person, what they are going to do & when. Mind you I've only just got back from the UK anb not seen them for  5 days, so they may all be done........ yer right!!!

Mike

Hi All,

Sorry to be boring, but just got this today:

 Thank you for your email.

The water features will be sorted out in a few days. We had a meeting with the constractor and we asked to make some works that will help to have the water clean. They are finishing the jobs and they have to clean it again before we meet again.

  Best Regards,

Hi Guys
Just back from few days at Roda, had a greeat time. Was glad to see others  having a whale of a time, especially the little mouse doing back stroke in the swimming pool by the villas!

On another  more serious note, was walking back from  town Around 7pm with two girls, along the minor road and were intimidated by what appeared to be three local young men in a car.  Needless to say we had to taxi in and out of town after that.

Hi All on Phase 1
Got this email from Moira today................fingers crossed

Hello Mike

The lakes are in the process of being drained and cleaned either this week or at the beginning of next week. We signed for the gardening company, Portman Garden, to take over the lake maintenance on Wednesday last and they are confident that they can maintain the lakes properly and in a better condition than they have been maintained in the past. The lakes will be maintained in the same way as the swimming pools and will be attended to on a weekly basis. There are some small reparations and changes to the lakes to be made by Roda this week, before the gardening company can begin the work and they are just waiting on these to be done.

The Administrators, Vice President and myself are keen that this is resolved as soon as possible and will be keeping a very close eye on what is happening. I understand that the main water feature at Blocks 23 etc is being emptied today and the remainder later in the week. This is necessary so that the lakes can be really well cleaned and saves on water usage which is obviously very important to the communidad.

Best regards

Moira

Hi Mike B

Thanks for you your attempts to raise awareness on this issue

I am in PH 1 and look onto one of said water features. The cleaning issues aside, I have a more fundamental dislike for these features. They look cheap and nasty with their luminous blue paint. Why not, for example, paint them a stone colour and line the bottom with stones, like the water feature at the clubhouse. Better still, kango them out, fill in with soil and grass them - a far more aesthetic and pleasing garden feel, with perhaps a couple of individual water features.

Don't forget, the indpendent engineers report, if my understanding is correct, recommended taking them out. Also, we would save on water expenses.

On all my visits to date, the end of the water feature nearest my apartment had no water fountain or flowing water in operation. How difficult can it be to repump water around a loop and keep a filter/cleaning system working?

I will email the community President.

Please correct me if I am wrong but were the water features not part of the overall plan when we bought?

I for one have made numerous complaints about how they are looked/not looked after.

However I would like them to stay.  When they are clean and the fountains are working, they are really lovely.  Having said that in 18 months I have only seen this once!  I agree with the blue paint issue.  The first time I seen it I thought it was gruesome but in time the plants will grow down and cover this and the sun will fade it.

The problem, it seems to me, is the dirty water is actually coming from the clay in the planting areas.

The president and vice president are working very hard on this issue and will only rest when a suitable solution if found.  For those of you who want rid of the features, this won't happen.

I do get frustrated every time I visit but we all know in Roda nothing happens overnight.  I have no doubt in my mind these features will look fantastic in the future.

Hi Kroda, we saw them in some pictures and they looked like they are bedding in pretty nicely, but that was in May. Are you in Roda now? What are they like at the moment? We're on phase 2 anyway, but last time we were there (April) we enjoyed visiting friends on phase 1, and they liked the water features. We're not out again until the end of the Summer unfortunately, so any news is always welcome!

No I am not in Roda at the moment but when I was last there, the water feature at our apartment was lovely but then the rain came and, as I said earlier, so did all the clay from the sides.  When we left it was looking very pitiful.
Mike, maybe I am dressing the "fountain" up too much.  It wasn't working when I was there.  It isn't an ornate fountain but one which merely keeps the water moving but when it works it is fine.
As I said earlier I am very happy that the president and vice president are on the ball.  We will have to be patient.  The area surrounding the water feature at my apartment is maturing really well and I certainly don't think they look "naf".  Have you ever seen a newly painted house - you probably have to wear sunglasses to avoid the glare- after a short time it fades and looks very well.  I have no doubt when the landscaping grows down completely we will see very little blue and hopefully a very nice feature.

Hi Kroda,
I'm sure your right, we will have to wait and see. I was there today and at least they have been drained and cleaned so a step in the right direction. By the way are you in one of the blocks with the water feature and pool, we are in block 24 on phase 1 by the ruondabout on the corner of phase 2 overlooking the ziz zag pool and water feature.
All the best
Mike
