I am confused 65L when you say "reality"do you mean that it is a confirmed fact?

From perusal of this forum I understood that you were neither an owner in Corvera or in Roda so I just wonder where you get your information. Is it pure conjecture on your part because if it is you should not be posting it as "reality"?  There are enough doom and gloom merchants out there without you purporting to know what you are talking about when you aren't even invested in either development. Who knows what your motivation is but it is not helping the many investors and residents of either development.

The "reality" is that De Vere staff are still working at Roda and I was talking to one of them during a short mid term break visit there. I was assured that whilst the management of the restaurant and clubhouse has been taken over for a year by a local Spanish company this in no way impacts on the plans to build a hotel eventually but in the current climate I am reassured that De Vere would not be so misguided as to start a hotel now when there are hotels in the area packing up and leaving.

The new car park which will be nearer the clubhouse is under construction, the golf club car park was packed every day and I was there from Friday night until last night, the badly needed new sports facilities are being built, I spoke to someone who is taking a unit in the commercial centre and it is starting shortly, the new supermarket/convenience store is opening beside the old pro's shop and there were plenty of people in the clubhouse every night where the food and service have improved and become cheaper. There is a new layout in the clubhouse and there were certainly more Spanish people eating there this time around although for work reasons I have only been down here twice in the past six months.

That is the "reality" and not my opinion but what I have seen and heard personally from those who are in a position to know. I suggest that until you have verified facts you desist from posting rumour on this forum as it helps noone and is detrimental and upsetting to those of us who are heavily invested in both resorts.

Thankyou Bunty for your help, much appreciated. Luckily we met Tony, a fellow Phase 2 owner in the clubhouse on Saturday and he directed us to Clinica Dental in San Javier which was open on Saturday afternoon and my son had an abscess which he was able to get an antibiotic for so crisis averted.

For anyone needing a dentist the lady dentist there spoke some english and the clinic is just across the road from Yorkshire Linen and the Wok Buffet shopping precinct.

I am in Roda at the moment and my nine year old son has a toothache which  manifested itself last night after our flight. For the moment he seems okay with painkillers and the dentists are closed but by Monday we will need to get him seen by someone here as we are not leaving until Wednesday night. Has anyone used any of the local dentists or can anyone give me a recommendation?

Please don't PM me as I have never managed to work that part of the forum and I am sure that telling me the name of a dentist will not break any forum rules.

Many thanks

Sorry I meant to say that if they speak english it would be a lot easier for my son who is nervous of dentists at the best of times.

Well said Wangy, your heart is in the right place but perhaps you should recognise that anyone who has time to put  257 posts on this forum needs to be left alone and while Roda's Big Daddy is writing to the directors of Calidona and annoying the sales staff as well as arranging the New Year's Eve dinner dance we are being spared.

Hello Alan

You should speak to the aftersales office if you have any worries. I was at a presentation about Roda with a few friends and they asked for information about security and were told that the security system in Roda is the second best in Spain with the first being in Madrid at the palaces and parliament.
The security staff patrol all the roads on a set route every few hours and there are sensors built into their cars and the road so that they have to be at a certain point at a given time or there is an alarm at the main security desk. The computer on the gate runs every number plate through the police computers when a car enters and leaves so if there are any stolen or wanted cars on the property they will be apprehended. Even when the number is not on the screen the number has been taken by computer. There are also walking security patrols throughout the resort at different times suring the day. All times for checks are also varied so that there is no possibility of anyone expecting a patrol at a given time.
My friends were so impressed that they have a property on another resort for sale with a view to moving to Roda and I was very much reassured that I had bought in the right place.

Hope that this helps.
