Looking for self drive van hire

Hi Folks

                   Was speaking with my Polaris rep today on the phone and he has sent me through a few pics of the new showhouse they have built on the Jardines.(We have bought on Jardine 7 Formely 6).

Have uploaded on the Photo section of this forum.

Although no sizes I think it gives you a decent enough image of the size of the kitchen and bathroom and the spec these will be finished too.

Yes the first picture is real this is part of the showhouse which you will be able to visit on site now.

Great , I wasn't going to bother going over there for a while, but may now to have a look at what they look like internally!

Does anyone know if there are any internal pics anywhere of the two bed apartments? With or without furnishings?

Superb!!! We're going over in April for a week and can't wait to visit the show apartment to get a feel for things.  Kitchen & Bathroom finishes look excellent. Notice a few things from these photos. Heating (radiator), outside uplighters, wood effect Kitchen units, kitchen light, shower screen. I'd imagine a few of these things are additional to give a finished look. Particulary internal lighting, which when we get the keys, will be a wire dangling from the ceiling.

I know it's a big ask but any chance you could ask your rep' how the penthouses are coming on. I notice a picture of a penthouse block and was wondering if he would know, which block number it is.

No worries if you can't get any info, the photos are great .

Midge we have noticed in two differnt sets of pictures that the kitchen worktops look like grey melamine in one set and wood effect in another. But we dont think we've ever been sent anything that suggests you get to make a selction of any finish- do you think we do?

I remember a while ago someone had asked about having different tiling and had bee told that wasnt possible because if Polaris offered a choice they'd never finish. But we have been curious if there was a choice about any fittings.

As you say, you don't get to choose anything. I'd like to think that the show apartment would be the spec' we will all getting though, as far as Kitchen units and worktops.

Regards the radiators you can see in the kitchen photo. I reckon heating is something that we'll only see in the show apartment as the Spanish girls working in the apartment will be feeling the cold. Afterall, outside temperatures in Murcia can drop as low as 17degrees!  

Shower screen in the bathroom might be part of the spec' but I'd be surprised.

Internal lights are doubtful. I watched a couple on another PW resort just after they'd got their keys. There were only cables hanging from the ceiling, no lights.

From what we can see the fixtures look good and we hope for a shower screen, dont remember them saying we;d have to fit that ourselves. We do remember the agent saying our bathroom would be aas good as the one we saw at La Torre- so fingers crossed.

I asked about the shower/shower screen when I was over in October. I was told that the shower in the bath is fitted as standard but the shower screen is not installed - reason was that some people prefer a screen, some prefer a curtain so they fit neither sadly!

First time buyer in Spain.  Bought an apartment on the Isla through Parador.  They are trying to sell me a Ownership package which will keep me informed during the build.  I feel this is an expense I can do without.  I would appreciate any one's thoughts on whether this is a wise decision.

Do you deal with Polaris World direct or through your Agents (do they charge you for this service) - especially re installation of air con and furniture packages?

SSPM It is a total rip off !!, photo's are uploaded on here and many other sites showing how progress is going on a weekly basis sometimes, to charge for something that is free is a total joke in my book.

My agent keeps me informed without even asking him, let alone paying for it! they have made their commission so that should cover the after sales stuff!

As for Air con & furniture packs we will all be in the same boat, so I'm sure when everyone comes to complete we will all be passing on recommendations etc.

I dont know if Im throwing a spanner in the works here but when I negotiated to purchase a 2 bedroom apartment on the jardines I received complimentary membership of the owners club (700 euro) and when my final payment is made a sum of 5000 euro will be paid into my spanish bank account. Did anybody do any better

I suppose it all depends on how much you paid for your apartment. I also thought membership of the owners club was free??  Perhaps I am misinformed?  Did you pay the basic 119000 euros or so for the apartment?  If you did then you certainly got a great deal.

We've purchased a 2 bed in Jardin 12/13. We paid the 700 for the Owners Club with Parador and get 2000 euros back on completion so not done any better! (Bought at original 119,800) I'm just hoping I get my monies worth from the Owners Club nearer completion...

I just logged on to see if there were any updated photos and I'm amazed, I can't believe how good it looks since I last looked (didn't think the photos were for real at first!)  The quality looks good so far and it's cheered up a dull day in January for me.  Can't wait to get over and have a look for myself.
