The cluhouse is still on track to be open in time for Easter.

There is an internet cafe in the EUROMARINA.

The current clubhouse has wifi because i go there to check my e-mails using my phone for free!!!! Don't tell Roda.

Roda knows there is wifi.  It is a non advertised service they give to their customers. There will also be free wifi in the new Clubhouse (it if opens in the future!) 

Just back today from a few  enjoyable days at Roda,  we managed to get a good look around the new clubhouse , its a very impressive building with great facilities.  You don't really appreciate its scale until you wander all over it..  Views from the terraces are excellent.  The lounge  and resturant are mostly furnished  and  it looks  close to completion.  According to the staff working in the pro shop they expect to transfer over in early March..    

Sadly no signs of life on the Hotel / commercial site.. 

We were also over last weekend and given an update on the opening.

The clubhouse is totally finished, all they are waiting for is the activity licence from the town hall.

Although Roda comes under the jurisdiction of San Javier the coruption problems at Los Alcazares town hall have had a knock on effect.

It would seem nothing will be decided until after the local elections in March.

The hotel is also been put on hold due to the problems in local goverment.

Apparently the mayor of LA has been in nick for the last 18 months.

PS Good news is they are still proceeding with faze 4 and some of the front line villas are up to chimney level

The mayor of Los Alcazares has not been in "nick" for the last 18 months, for goodness sake folks, get your facts straight before posting, there is enough bad press and innacurate reporting about Spain as it is.

All the corruption problems stem from Marbella on the Costa del Sol, the mayor from Marbella has been arrested and awaiting trial, so has a Marbella based business man who hails from Cartagena, who has a home opposite the La Manga club.

Some town hall officials in both San Javier and Los Alcazares and their families have been interviewed locally, none of which are in "nick" at this time, lots of enquiries are being made as a result of an association with these peoiple, also there have been some developments affected locally, namely One Properties, Nueva Ribera Beach Club in Los Narejos.

All planning permissions and building licenses are being investigated all over Spain as a result, which has of course slowed things down considerably, including our hotel and club house at Roda.

hi sugarmummy i was just wondering did you notice if there was any work been done on any phase 4 apartments, We were told there was no  premission from town hall yet by roda and that our apartment in phase 4 would not be ready till late 09

The problem with the business license are normal for Spain as it always takes longer than people estimate

The problem is not so much the corruption allegations in the area but The fact that the main campaign for the Spanish general elections started today and this will result in offical paperwork being delayed

Yes there is still some general snagging defects around the new clubhouse but it is pretty well finished as far as fixtures and fittings are concerned

Will members pls check for previous threads as most issues have been covered.

Not everyone is as well informed as yourself or have the time to trawl through all previous threads. Could you not have a little patience with people who are new to this site and allow them to learn for themselves rather than having a needless go at them.

It takes maybe 30 secs to check if there is a previous thread which in the long run will save you time.

Most subjects have been covered at some time.

I have asked the administrator at EOS to include a search facility but this was ignored.
