Hi all,
My brother is out in Spain at the moment and staying at our duplex. He phoned me earlier today to inform me that there are a number of people starting to install satellite dishes, these dishes are directly opposite us and overlook the 1st phase pool.
They are about 4 feet in diameter and people are just sticking them out on their terrace, which as you can imagine looks terrible.
Many people have complained about the issue of seeing people drying their towels etc. on their balconies, which I agree does't look very nice however, these 4 foot satellite dishes crammed onto the terrace and overlooking the pool will surely make the place look tacky.
I thought the dishes which Keymare have already installed would be enough to supply people with sky tv. The people who have decided to install these large dishes prior to the community meeting are in my view taking a big risk, as we will certainly be hoping for their removal.
Look forward to hearing your thoughts.
Regards Dean

Seasun House are the site administrators, Luis Marquez is the guy responsible (tel: 00 34 670 006 897 email: marquez@seasun.es)
email Luis and tell him about the dishes and the other illegal dishes positioned about the site ,some are in the indentations of the central atriums. This is prior to the meeting no authorisation and they should be told to remove them and penalised.
Would you also be prepared to name the blocks and the apartments on this site?
Thanks for the information ,we all need to stand up against anti -social actions

Do we know yet when the seasun meeting is going to be as i completed a couple of weeks ago and after 3 nights of BBC world news and Sky News i almost took the risk of putting up one of these dishes myself. Must admit i never saw any on peoples balconies but i was led to believe a few had had them secretly installed in roof positions were they are difficult to see.

When we completed at the Notario, we sat around the table with our agent, KM rep (Maria) and our solicitor who read parts of the completion document out to us. Our solicitor was most specific on 2 points, which the KM rep also emphasised:
- NO external changes to be made to our unit
- NO satellite dish to be installed
We were advised the dishes would be an item to discuss at the community meeting.
Everyone who has gone through this completion process must have been advised the same as the parties named above have to be present and the solicitor and KM cannot sign the deed in front of the Notary unless you have agreed it, so I can only assume these people who have erected dishes have paid lip service at the Notary and then gone off and done whatever they want anyway!

I agree and therefore it is the responsibility of Keymare to take action against the Dish people ,including the ones that are not immediately visible,I suggest that you all email Luis or Maria (if you have her email address,if you have please PM it to me).
I have been told that one apartment has three dogs and a dish.
I am going to get tee -shirts made up with ban dogs and dishes printed front and back.
Sue I can only think that perhaps some owners gave power of attorney to their solicitors and are unaware ,ignorance is no defense,a legal document was signed on their behalf.

Maybe the people with the dishes live there, what would we do without our tv, I dont like the one's on the balcony the one's that are hidden are ok, when the complex was built they should have pre installed cable tv, the client's with the dishes are english speaking and not spanish speaking, the spanish client's have been catered for, so how can we tell people who live there they cannot watch tv

As much as I hate the thought of dishes all over the place, you are absolutely right. The problem here is that Keymare should have plumbed in Satellite for all and not just the Spanish and Germans. We have friends who have an apartment in Murcia and they have said that dishes have sprung up everywhere. So unless Keymare do something this problem will only get worse as people move in.
My own opinion is that people should have waited until the community meeting and then try and have multiple feeds to apartments from single strategically placed dishes.

the problem is because so many people have completed months ago, and others, like myself are yet to complete, the community meeting has been put back. Those already there are not going to wait months and months without TV are they?
Surely KM could contract some work to a company to install a dish on the top of each block. Then those who wish to take a feed can pay a proportion of the total install cost to KM. That way they are not footing the bill, merely arranging it.
Big dishes on balconies do look ugly, but they will go up and continue to go up unless something is sorted once and for all.

As far as I'm concerned, the foreign tv channels isn't a problem - I can take advantage of the situation and enhance my Spanish language skills (even learn from the children's channels) .
We can't really blame Key Mare or the builder, after all - is this something that would be catered for if the development was in the UK? I'm sure our builders consider the nationality of their customers. I've only found 1 spanish channel on Sky!
Surely if you intend living in Spain you have learned the language so can enjoy their channels?
Whatever happened to when in Rome do as the Romans do?

They might go up but eventually they will have to come down and if they do not mind paying for them to be installed then removed ,then paying for what is decided at the community meeting,

When in Rome I do as the Romans do............................
Drive like a maniac, enjoy copious amounts of pasta and fine wines, and, most importantly.......................
Stop bothering myself with everybody else's business, and get on with the task of enjoying MY life!!!!
Take a chill pill!!!!
RELAX.

When we live in a community there must be rules ,individuals deciding what some-one else should look at from their terrace is, I believe not acceptable. The architect designed the buildings to create a special atmosphere ,if he/she had felt that satellite dishes would enhance they would have been included. If you wish to devalue your property, then 'live & let live' .
Every owner has made a substantial investment, therefore it is only right and proper that the community should have rules to protect the investment and ensure that the development can be viewed with pride. Drop standards - drop property values - don't let it happen here.

Apologies for stopping mid sentence.
Just to give you something else to talk about other than my satellite dish and the dogs!!
Several people have "glassed in" their outdoor utility areas.
I personally do not have an issue with this as they have done it extremely tastefully, and within keeping of the development.
However, someone is bound to ask the question, "who gave them permission?"
Will you be asking the builders/KeyMare to "fine" them, or make them pay a penalty? I think not!
I certainly don't think they will have de-valued their property in any way, nor will their actions have affected their neighbours.

Lorraine,
I think that your reponse in respect to glassing in utility areas should be on a new thread.
