Has anybody heard anything recently if any swimming pools are being built?

Hi Rosemary

Yes, the first swimming pool has already been started and is next to the block of Eagles on M11, if you have a plan of the site you can see the block.  Also we have been told it is definitely not a communal pool but a community pool which is being run by the firm who will run the golf club and they will be responsible for the upkeep and therefore, charge for entry.

Cheers

hi,

the swimming pool is right next to m11 - 14 (mine).

seemingly there is also one going at the top of M54 - think it was next to m54 - 01. this was the reason why that particular millenium had  such a large supplement. seems strange that there would be 2 swimming pools on the same street though.

hope this helps.

Hello, I have just been looking at some of the site plans I have and I can see the swimming pool shown on M11 and I can clearly see the one between M54 and M53 they seem to have a code on S/AL , from this I can also see a plot between M16 and M15 shown as S/AL1 does anyone on M15 or M16 know if this is a swimming pool, also the last person mentioned a supplement because they were next to the swimming pool do those who have bought these plots see it as a good selling point.

I wonder if anyone was told about the community swimming pools when they signed for their houses, we were told there would be one within the sports complex of the Golf House.

We recently stayed on a complex in Campoamor and every few streets had a 'communal' swimming pool, they were well maintained, a nice lawn, shielded from view with shrubs and plants, there was a toilet block next to each swimming pool and a few outdoor showers.  Each property owner had a key to their particular swimming pool which they kept in their posession, but this all seemed to work really well.  My thoughts are why have they chosen to introduce so many community pools rather than communal, do you think it is because it only means those who use them pay for them, or is it another way of them making money.   For those who are buying to let, these will be less of a feature if visitors have to pay, that is of course unless the fee is only nominal to cover cost of upkeep.  I was also told that swimming pools over a certain size have to have a permanent life guard.

Just a few thoughts as with a lot of other things we seem to be finding out as we go along.

hi,

i was told when before choosing where the swimming pools, nearest to the plots i was interested in. there is also going to be restaurant beside the swimming pool on m11.  i dont see it as a bad point, being next to the pool and restaurant, but the reason we chose the plot was bexause it has a large garden, and that was why we chose the plot and paid the hefty supplement. the pool and restaurant didnt really come in to it. we are planning on putting a pool into the garden anyway. I am unsure what the charges will be, was only told that there would be charges. Maybe there will be a discount for residents who opt to pay for the whole year, this meaning anyone who is buying to let can let there guests use it free, or know how much to add on to there rental costs.

my plans dont show any codes. i was only told that there woa definately a pool on M11, M54 and in the golf complex. they were trying to get permission for more, but had to be careful as the more pools there were, the more chance of community charges being introduced. I was told that there would be small childrens play parks, scattered over the complex.

i was told that residents will get a discount on the green fees and that you can use 4 or 5 of the golf courses in the area. i was also told that they were trying to get a road that links them all, but wasnt really told any more info on it.

i am out there in just over a week, so i will try and find out more info when i am out.

hope this helps

Hi RangSG

Can you please put the map you have on the photo page so we can all see, on the map i have it also shows commercial areas on M11, M22, M23 & one next to M8 and another 12 spread over the whole of S/G and thats without the town centre area. It also looks like the commercial areas on M22 & M23 are three storeys high? let's hope not.

Regards

Tony

Hi folks.

This is fantastic news I must say.  When we bought our M11 Albatros in APril 2006 we were told (By MASA International) that there would only be 1 pool on the complex, that being attached to the future hotel planned and that if we wanted a pool we would need to opt for our own one.  We were also not told about the play areas, excellent if true, as I have a 3 and a 5 year old.

If anybody has any concrete proof, plans etc of anything like this on the site, and have the ability to upload them as a picture on this site it would be fantastic.  This can generally be done by saving the file as a JPeg or TIFF file.  I can try help if you need assistance.

Cheers

Jason
