When at Casares at Easter I noticed there were a number of large For Sale signs especially in the area where the bins were placed. They hit you as soon as you go into the develpment. There were also some to let signs appearing. I've been thinking about this from a community perspective and was wondering if we should raise this at AGM with a view to restricting the placing of signs so they don't detract from the environment. They do look unsightly and I for one do not want to be looking at these signs whilst I'm on holiday there. Am sure those whose balconies overlook will feel the same. I know people selling or renting will want to have something but truthfully how much passing trade will they get. Most will get information from agents about property for sale. With the market not exactly bouyant they could be there a long time (althogh i hope not for the sellers sake). Do others feel the same or have a view?

On another point raised by others there are clearly some problems at Casares but there are also some good things and if we have owners wanting to sell or rent or even for those who will be keeping our apartments we want to protect our investment  we need to stay positive whislt still using this forum as an important exchange of information. After a lot of early problems last visit we succeeded in sorting  our snagging problems with Miguel on site and I felt things were moving forward and so our next visit we are looking forward to enjoying our place without the builder hassles. As others have said it is definately out of sight out of mind and to get things sorted you need to be on site and be persistent. I have found recommendations and information on this Forum really helpful.

I agree, the "for sale" signs are unsightly and I too question what use they are serving at this point in the life of the site. Unfortunate that there are so many in view just as you drive into the site. But I suppose if I had my apartment on the market, I would want a board.

All very understandable but when the market is so bad, or non-existant, perhaps the signs are the only hope.

Justin posted  a very long positive contribution from a number of experts in the newsletter, it had no noticeable effect on the market, I rather think that the market has heard it all before. Even the "sharks" have swum away. If this site ever begins to look attractive then signs will be useful, no doubt. As to agents interest, unless you pay up front for a listing they are not interested. Try it for yourselves.

The market is affecting all sites, this from an up market quality site near Marbella --

"We intend to let and clients will be put off when building and gardens are still in progress. We would like to sell our apartment but we realise that all sales are very slow at this time and have been unable to find an agent to market our apartment."

Perhaps a little forebearance is called for, some people are desperate I guess.
