I haven't been on this site for ages, as I was driven away iby the many negative posts. So was thrilled to read a positive one that echoed exactly our own experience. We come as often as we can. We bought two apartments one for ourselves and one to rent. We have had so many repeat visors last year we rented out both apartments over the summer. Bookings this year a little slower but still good. Shame flight prices have increased so much, expecially half term week. But our communities have done an amazing job - we are in PM2. Our last renter went out and bought one, they loved it so much and still bargains to be had. We are glad we stayed with it, shame value has dropped but we are getting rentals as development is so lovely now and community Wifi a real bonus.

I'm back today from Casares and this was to have been a holiday but apart from some free afternoons and evenings there were still things to be done in our two apartments. However I can report that Miguel and Antonio responded and I got my jobs done. My electricity went off on a Saturday - managed as part circuit was OK so we had lamps but no lights. At the weekend what do you do? Eventually got an electrician Monday - fault was water pouring through a socket in utility when washing machine was on, once this was isolated this great electrician Mark sorted it for me (my expense though). Miguel and Antonio were then on the case and diagnosed a blocked washing machine pipe, once this was sorted the problem was solved. Just letting you know this in case you have a similar problem.

I succeeded in sorting out two other problems in my other apartment - frequent telephone calls seem to do the trick.

But Miguel is now off on his holiday - I wonder what we do at weekends and when he's away - I've just reconciled myself to sorting out (and paying for) my own workmen if its somethign that can't wait. But it really isn't good enough. I guess I could try sending in a bill!

For those who use Cardiff he has left Spain this weekend to return to work in the city.

These minor things aside had a great time and can't wait to get back in 10 days time for long weekend, Erica

Totally agree with your post. Many people will be going tin September and through to October half term and owners as well as renters will expect the pools to be open. I personally raised the point re sunbathing areas at the AGM and I saw this was being considered as part of the issues being addressed by the Board. I'm just starting to get rentals now and the pools and the pool area are an integral part of a holiday experience for owners and renters alike.

We are out end of next week and can't wait to enjoy the apartment again without having to do too many jobs! Its great to hear others enjoying the place. Aside from all the things that need resolving it really is a superb location.

Community thread: Use of Pools

Just to make a comment on pools.

When we were there last there were quite a few people round the PM2 pool outside block 13, in fact one day not enough sun beds. We do need the pools open for longer than August - I had thought it was at least October. We've been to Spain before during October half term and swum in unheated pools but it woudl be good to think longer term about heating. Re size of the pools - I do think a lifeguard is unnecessary all the time. I wouldn't swim unless there were others around, surely we could be adult about it. If we find ourselves considering reducing the size then if there is a choice please not the block 13 pool area. Our daughter when she is there needs to swim train  as she is a competitive swimmer and the large pool is perfect. They are usually too small for her to train and we have to go searching for a pool somewhere. Its one of big plus points for us of Casares.

Forgot to mention if anyone needs to get hold of Steve who helped us with air con, electric shutters etc he can be contacted at
(0034) 670 88 5219 and by email  paintbustersspain@hotmail.com. If its not soemthing he does he seems to know someone who can help.

We were out for the AGM and once again had a lovely time. It was great to see so many turn up for the AGM and to meet so many nice people. Thanks to all those who volunteered for the Board - we are very lucky to have such a good team and a wealth of experience in our community. We're back middle of July so hopefully anyone out at that time might get chance to meet up.
