Hi
Has anyone else noticed the decision at the EGM to restrict 2 bed apartments to 4 pool wristbands and 3 bedroom apartments to 6 wristbands.  There are no guest bands and anyone with large families has to contact AEA to "seek a solution".
What an absolute nonsense this is and has to be looked at again at the next AGM or sooner.  At what point was it decided that 2 bedroom apartments can only sleep 4 people and that if you have people staying or visitors they are not allowed to join you at the pool.

Steve

I have the minutes and it's true.  I can't imagine why people at the AGM voted to have no guest bands at all and to restrict to four for a 2 bed.  Many owners have three children in a two bed and I don't think it's unreasonable to have a guest or two now and again as long as they are accompanied and abiding by rules.

Personally, I do think it's a rather odd decision to make and the second option may have been more acceptable, but am sure that AEA will provide extra wristbands for those that require them.  Maybe we should all ensure that we are properly represented at these meetings and our vote is secured - myself included (I completely forgot about it).

Eljock, I will send you a copy of the Minutes by PM - I'm not sure AEA will provide them until you have completed.

Just a scenario here.... this is another one of those difficult items. Now more appartments are purchased there is an expection of pools being overcrowed in summer 2016.  It was reported that there was some over crowding in 2015.

If pools get overcrowded in July and August and there are legal limits to how many can occupy the pool areas for health and safety reasons, then you could find owners being turned away from the pools whilst the early birds are enjoying occupancy with their family of four plus two guests.....  Could end up being like the busy roads in the UK, commuters now start out at times such as 5:30 to avoid congestion.   Will we have to skip breakfast to get our place around the pool (and no towel reservations please).

My thoughts are you get four free and if you prove you have an immediate family of five or six you can apply.

But if you want more for guests then you purchase them or maybe hire them.  One to debate at the net A.G.M. - anyone know the date please?

Our pools at DV have proved to be very popular.  In past years locals came from all surrounding habitations to enjoy them. So guest bands would have a market value !

It will be my first year and I will be very disappointed if I end up with pool access isdues

looking longer term it may be that the agm discussions on this decide to look st the feasibility of building more pools, that of course could lead to more costs and debts outstanding g would help in that respect

i was shocked to find out how much is owed to the community ie 500,000 euros or thereabouts, just how did it end up like that?

This year Paul the bands were four per two bed and six per three bed but we could pay a deposit for up to two guest bands (or a fee if we wanted to keep them). It worked well on the whole and the pool wasn't crowded at all. We managed to get beds at any time of the day in August even on weekends. I'm sure some people abused this still but there were no longer any locals driving in and parking up to use the pool. Now it seems that at the AGM it has been decided that there are to be no guest bands any longer.

Thanks Caroline.  not been in July or August for years so my four wristbands are tradable for a few bottles of wine :-)

Maybe it was busier in July?

If the new system kept the locals out then its serving its purpose.  I do recall some years when they occupied the paddle court all day claiming to be residents and at the end of the day they drove directly out of the estate.  How maddening was that ?

That recent EGM wasn't well attended, I noted from the minutes on 6.3% !  The AGMs are now set to be the second Friday of May (13th this year) so we can organise our vacations accordingly if we want to attend the AGM in person.    So there will be opportunity to 'improve' upon admin for the wrist bands.  And any new owners can enjoy the AGM experience for the first time. smiley   I greatly favour extra wrist bands being made available for those who want them but its reasonable that this should be at a price.  (And even better, a rebate would be nice for those who decline them).  Market mechanisms are an efficient means of regulating demand as long as the administration is not too expensive.

I have three kids so really need 5 bands and I can't help but think it's unreasonable to be charged forbthis

Is my request so unreasonable set against the community fees I will already be paying

A more pressing matter for me is the debt and this should be prioritised

surely a more dynamic approach to this would be a better priority??
