Could be true!!
Seeing is beleiving. The downturn has trapped many people, and I for one would like the opportunity to sell at a smaller loss in years to come.
I choose to remain in a positive frame regarding Paramount.
Even if it never happens, it will have kept hope alive for many, Just think about where we would be without having anything to look forward to.
Any news on the club house!!

Blue Peter 1998 Annual. All you need is a plastic squeezy bottle, a cornflake box and some sticky back plastic. All the instructions are there "Build your own Club House in Spain"

As Duffy said, paramount has given people hope, once this dream has faded and died, we can all cling to the hope that we will get a new clubhouse! Although I hate football, owning on Condado must be like supporting a rubbish team, you keep clinging to the hope that one day we will win a cup, or in this case get some facilities! Bolton wonders to win the European cup or paramount park, bets now being taken on which will happen first! I have a tenner on my local team.

Darren I often think you have valid points regarding CdA but in truth CDA is far ,far better off then many resorts that have not developed as expected post 2008. I know there are disappointments, without doubt, but we have a lot to be satisfied with (not content, not happy) as I know many resorts are half built, no golf course, skeletons of structures adjoining the residential properties and so on. We have a viable resort albeit much smaller than expected but there is potential and ML seem to want to work with the residents and owners- thats more than many resorts have. I genuinely believe PW bit off more than they could chew with CdA and by 2007/2008 they saw the writing on the walll and for the most part could do little about it. Did they mis sell, or continue selling after they knew they were for the high jump who knows? They did at least finish all the buildings they started on the resort and complete the golf course.
But it is what it is. I railed against what had happened, often on this forum as buying here destroyed a long relationship and I was very disappointed and hoped to see that other people felt as short changed as me. Actually I found I like CdA and a lot of people have found many positives in the development. I have come to feel we have to give it time- no choice really have we?. Many people want to have a rural retreat- well, at CdA lots of us have that, albeit on a development, as most of the time you have so few neighbours you could be miles from anywhere! Financially we just have to take it on the chin- Originally I was only in for a golf suite apartment, so less than a 2 bed Jardines and have ended up with a Jardines apartment and a bigger committment than I expected, with the downtourn this is more than enough to make you regret.
If we get Paramount and they finish it then maybe there's a different future otherwise we'll develop slowly but I do think we'll see development over time. Fingers crossed March 7th see's this land deal sorted.

What's the point of a forum where everyone has the same views?
Many of you choose to believe paramount will happen and I accept that! I choose to believe it won't happen, it's just a point if view! I could be wrong as I was once before?
However most of my predictions were correct, no 2nd 3 rd course, no oasis, no hotel, no clubhouse! I can't be right all the time, cut me some slack!
Profit of doom! Or speaker of the truth, I don't mind either, but I have a better strike rate than Nostradamus! This message was last edited by darren.wilkes on 11/02/2012.

Ha ha, I like you and your posts Darren, you sound like a good guy to have a couple of beers and a bit of banter with, but I can see why you wind folk up.
I don't think any of your views are in any way unreasonable or contraversial, but you do put them accross in a deliberately provocative manner, I think. I generally read them in a tongue-in-cheek way which is how I think you intend them, and I find them funny. But if taken at face value they can be taken as innecessarily aggressive by some.
Anyway, to those who get wound up by Darren - don't.By reacting he's getting what he wants. If you laugh it off he'll eventually get bored. :)

Paramount will happen and in March you will all see. Cappielow, you are right about Darren being the POD but unfortunately wrong about that smelly team you support. Somerset for ever!

I think that Darren does not want it to go well for the CDA,
Maybe he is jealous of everyone who bought cheap.
I do not care so much about Paramont will hapend or not
We plan to have our apartment for many many years
And we are happy and love the CDA with or without Paramont

Me too. We've bought a lovely place in a great part of Spain with a fantastic climate and we are looking forward to the next 20 years until we are dragged off to a home dribbling from our mouths and eating gruel!

We always wanted a big super duper resort with everything to hand but now we are much wiser. Quiet is nice, but could be better if they grassed the non-build up areas with nice walking paths and put some palms trees around the course like they have in Dubai.
As for Paramount, would love it to happen for financial gains (reduce loses) but can;t see anyone really throwing money around in the current climate. Why not wait till Greece bails, see if Spain is next and with the devaluated pesetas external investors can build for much less the cost.

I think Darren believes it won't happen but I firmly believe he like the majority will want it to happen, this will then hopefully give him and others the opportunity to sell up. I don't believe it will happen and this delay has just firmed that up in my eyes. Having said that I would be delighted if it did come off.

I was quite impressed with the new Alicante terminal building. I don't know what it will be like in july but parking was easy, (go to level 4) and cheap by UK standards). When Corvera opens this year, we in this are of Murcia will have an airport withing 20 minutes and this will expand the area as it has done in the Torrevieja area with Alicante being so close. Remember the best time to buy a house or a business is in a recession.!

Hey Darren,
As I remember Nostradamus had a go at predicting things a but more in the future than you. A few hundred years I belive.
I agree with your comments...although hardly Nostradamus like to predict we wouldn't get the 2nd and 3rd courses when there was no clubhouse at the first. Or no Oasis when Al Kasar was 90% empty.
Now on the big things you were no for Corvera and no for Paramount I believe....I am still 50/50 on paramount and like others won't lose any sleep either way.
How about a 15-20 year predicition for CdA Darren? What will the existing course be like?Al Kasar? Apartments/Jardines? Extra development? Throw in a few share tips if you like.

Many of us bought through 2006-2008 and were sold the 'big idea' which was that within 10 years of first completions Condado de Alhama would be a town, with firestation, medical centre, shopping mall, 3 golf courses and hotels etc. etc- and the boom would continue. Not really sure what it would have been like but not the CdA we now have. After all Al Kasar didnt even feature but 15, 000 properties would have. Great maybe, busy definitely, and with lots of rental properties door to door. and next door and above. Think about that when you wish for Paramount.
I think many of us are now used to the quiet ways of CdA and a busier resort may not really be what you want any more. It'll mean rental income to those who want that and greater income to car renters and keyholders, bar owners, kids club entrepeneurs et al but will owners be in their properties or will you be next door thinking how busy and noisy it all is? People who want to sell may be able to and the resort will develop. I just dont think we all expected it to be a 12 months of the year hive of activity and with Paramount it could be to greater or lesser extent afterall they plan an open auditorium for concerts above and beoynd the theme park ideas. Not saying this isnt positive for the region and for CdA but we were expecting golfers and shoppers not theme park lovers and music fans- different clientel, may be...,,
I'd like more facilities and something more of what was expected and I'm sure the isla owners would like to know what might appear on their horizons, but some times its a case of be careful what you wish for.
