Saturday Market @ CDA

I have just recieved an email from ML saying that a market will be held on each Saturday at CDA. 

Dear owners:

 In this administration we are concerned and worried, as all the owners, about the limited available services in our resort, despite the many efforts and good wishes from everyone to get them.

 This Administration, recently held meetings with both Polaris and with IRM, demonstrating this need and desirability of providing, albeit temporarily, until the definition and realization of the actions of companies are carried out in the Forum.

 In the meantime and duly authorized by them and concretely by the current owner of that forum, Polaris, it has been accepted, the installation of a market on Saturday afternoon, from 18 hours to 23 hours. It will be inaugur ated next Saturday, July 16, 2011.

 The allocation of this market will be the parking area in front of the AlKasar, owned by Polaris, and will display and sale of:

 -Fruits and Vegetables-Clothes-Feeding-Shoes-Textile-Household linen-Handicrafts-Decoration-Antiques-Gifts-Flowers and Plants-Cheap bar area-Others.

 As free activities will be held:

Tasting churros-Tasting of beer and soft drinks-mechanical Bull- Inflatables for children- Gifts for your visit-Professional ballet performance-Hostess and continuous shows-Draw a holiday weekend for 2 people in Mojacar-Draw every Saturday: washing machines, dishwashers, dryers, irons, shopping carts.

This initiative and new experience to carry out,  will be evaluated and appreciated by all of us, as well as having been informed the city of Alhama, to all intents and purposes, will provide us, one day a week the opportunity to enjoy and use it as a c ontrolled, planned and organized point of supply for all residents and visitors.

We are confident that this event will be to your liking and serve to enhance and attract consumers to make possible and profitable, the development, occupation and open businesses, permanently, in commercial installations Alkasar Center.

We are at your disposal for clarifying any aspect you deem appropriated.

It may not be much but I think its a step in the right direction and hopefully the next step will be getting some businesses and services operating from Al Katraz.  Can't wait to see my 4 year old trying the mechanical bull ride!!

 That's 3 markets now ................ the place is taking off, roll on Corvera Airport, Paramount, & Harry Potter World/Peppa Pig Park for Darren 

I heard whispers about the Peppa Pig Park! I am so excited, I heard this is being built on the land oposite la Isla and that construction will begin in Jan 2012...> they are hoping to be fully open by June 2013!

This is the most exciting thing to happen in the region and I for one cant wait.

I know you will get the moaners on here sayin that the fireworks will keep them awake and that there will be an increase in visitors and the place will get busy etc...> But remember most of us bought into a busy resort!

Roll on the opening ceremony, I will be buying my season ticket on the opening day.

Darren you are quite funny sometimes Lad my 15 year old is reading this thread and can't wait for the pig farm to open..

I have nothing against the Market, I think it is a good idea, however, we pay community charge for a gated, secure, owners and owners guests only urbanisation, so why are we letting numerous unknown strangers access our space? There is more than enough space for both a Market, ancillary equipment and parking within 100 metres of the security entrance. Using this space means security officials can monitor who is coming and going regarding entry into Condado. Also, any damage caused and rubbish left behind will be on the outer ring and therefore Alhama Council will be responsible. Other than that, yeh, I am for it.

Maybe the increase in community fees is to pay for the clean up every weekend.

 Davell raises a good point,

what is to stop visitors to the market entering our garden areas, using our pools and robbing our furniture!

I have to agree with Davell as regards the Saturday market.We are letting ourselves wide open and our privacy is gone.WHO IS GOING TO DO THE CLEAN UP AFTER.???

 

 

 

 

I would hope that Mileniun would have considered these concerns about security and extra cleaning and take appropriate action to make sure that the security of the site is not compromised. Let's wait and see the results before we start worrying unduly.

I'm still new to CDA but (perhaps naively) I would have expected ML to have considered issues such as cleaning, security and privacy before authorising the market. It is supposed to be for the benefit of residents/owners and been discussed with IRM and the Presidents. O genuinely hope it will be beneficial to CDA but if it creates more problems than benefits then surely we can pull the plug on it?

Surely they could keep the market outside the gates, we're not exactly short of car park space outside the barriers.

1800 to 2300 hrs on a sat' night???!!!

We have to produce passport details and where we live to get in the place.................................................No, oh lets open the gates and let anyone in.  etc

what happens when your local council adopts the resort? As is happening on all the Polaris World developments, the roads are public and security can not refuse entry.

The adoption of the resort includes the taking over of the street lighting and street cleaning.  Also you may find that your rubbish collection will be included on your water bill. We are being charged about 42 euros a quarter for this service, regardless if we live here or not on Mar Menor Golf resort Whilst the the local town of Torre Pacheco are charged about 26 euros a quarter!

Hi All

Having market traders was not agreed at the AGM, the opposite was the majority opinion.

Numerous people stood up at the AGM insisting that market traders and mobile services should not be allowed and certainly NOT inside the resort. One person went to great length to say that if we allow such traders the supermarket may well close. These opinions were given great applause by a significant percentage of the assembly.

The opinion at the AGM was that the board should do all it can to have services provided within the empty retail units.

All this as recorded in the AGM Minutes, Have a look at your copy item 12 last two paragraphs.

So we should be asking Mileniun who has changed the democratic opinion of the delegates at the AGM.

Welcome to Spain!

Surely anyone from outside who comes to CDA to play golf  already has this access  anyway, i think its a good idea and will bring a bit of life to the resort and possibly  ecourage  the units  inside to be taken up.
