Just saw this morning when I visited the super market that a maintenance guy was installing a two foot high fence around the perimeter of the lake in the Al Kazar. Not sure how this will turn out but my initial thought was - why were Polaris spending money on such a thing at this late stage?

Now with all the other information on the forum about Polaris puling out, it seems obvious to me now that whoever has taken over the ownership of the Al Kazar saw what was a health and safety risk to young children - the lake - and decided to head off potential claims now.

Good news in some respects as it indicates a willingness on the part of the new owners to spend money and maybe now we will see other opportunities for people who wish to open up small businesses, to be allowed to do so. I think there are one or two contributors to this forum who have the experience to run the Clover in a way that most of us would find more acceptable.

Watch this space!!

No pictures but its metal posts 2 ft 6" give or take with a rope attcahjed not sure of reasons etc but thats what has beeen done tonight.

It will not stop kids paddling or dogs swimming in it?

According to my Mum its to stop the drunks falling in the pool?

Personnal i think someone has complained and PW has decided to put up a simple fence.

EU HSE regs for pools? maybe there should always have been a fence like in the Jardines. Though it doesnt sound fit for purpose.

Thanks Jax for the photo. Left my camera at home. The fence does actually look OK although I agree a competent drunk or wiley child would have no difficulty in reaching the water.

Lets hope for some more improvements or developments in the Al Kazar - how about a gym and aerobics room in one or two of the units!!  (ooooh I know the supporters of the surgery will kill me for this)

Great idea John - one of those units would be great for doing classes with a good quality gym, sauna and therapy rooms.

I would still love to see a coffee shop with tables outside  where you can but light snacks / ice creams, etc, to save me having to go off-site everytime I want something. I would certainly spend a lot more time on site if there was a little more to do than go the supermarket and the Clover on a night time.

Even someone with one of those ice cream trolleys would be good in summer months.

As people have posted before unless the rents change no one will be going into those units.  I too would love to see a couple of small cafe/coffee shops.  Even some of the bars I've seen in other areas of Spain are simply tiny inside but everyone sits outside.

It is a shame as although it has its detractors Al Kazar with the water feature in the middle and a number of smaller cafes/shops with people sitting outside would be quite a nice place.

If anyone has been to Quinta De Lago town centre on Portugal I believe that Al Kazar has the potential to be nicer but needs a brave man to give it a shot. Plus it would be so nice to have a top quality club house so the promotion of the course and resort can really commence. Imagining spending 40 million euros on a golf course with no club house. I have posted this before but based on 3000 properties on Condado I would be happy to split this 500 Euros each to build a top quality club house for 1 and half million Euros.

God knows when any further investment will ever take place on Condado..!!
