Mariposa Hotel

Hi all,

My son and his partner spent today quad biking followed by lunch at the Mariposa Hotel in the Sierra Espuna mountains. They are completing their trip with an overnight stay that includes an evening meal and breakfast.

He texted tonight that they had the most terrific day out, being especially delighted that she enjoyed it so much too. And on top of which they had a 'cracking steak dinner', couldn't have been better.

They had tried the waterpark in Murcia on Tuesday but reported it was closed, golf was supposed to be Wednesday and the mountains Thurs/ Fri. By the way I arranged travel insurance that included personal liability for the quading for less than £9 each.

Can't wait until its my turn in September.

Surprised the water park is closed, especially in may..  Was there a sign up to say why...  its a good day out,

The owners of the Mariposa hotel also run Espuna Adventure. Activities include walks along the old pilgrim routes, mountain biking, wine tours,quading and kayacking. Apparently there is a lake within the mountain range and the views throughout are something to behold. BUT please be aware they are closed wednesdays.( regretfully as what happened to me last year, was so disappointed)

The prices are excellent and meals alone well worth the trip.

The quad biking is great fun for all the family, my hubby and 9 year old were on one bike and me and my 16year old were on another. You can go as fast or slow as you like. wear old clothes(not white) as you get covered in red sandy dust and it is  impossible to get out, take a change with you so your not sitting in filthy clothes while eating your meal.
